The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) seeks to build an academic and student centered community whose members have diverse cultures, backgrounds, and life experiences. We aim to engage members of our community as active citizens in a multicultural world and believe that diverse backgrounds and ideas are crucial to academic excellence. OMA encourages endeavors to foster a just and inclusive campus culture that embraces the diversity of the larger society. We participate in action-oriented, university wide initiatives that promote access to resources and increase academic preparedness in underrepresented students. OMA collaborates on initiatives to engage and support staff, and faculty and their allies at the University of Idaho.
Our Student Diversity Center, located in TLC 227 and 229 provides a space for students to do homework, relax, hangout with friends, as well as hold meetings and activities. The center consists of three rooms. In the main room, we have a sofa with matching chairs and a conference table that seats fourteen. The center is also equipped with a refrigerator, microwave and sink. Connected to the main room is a computer lab with five computers for student use. We also have a meeting room for small groups of five or less.
