Your SNES, Your NES, Master System, Mega Drive, PS1, Game Boy, DS - hell, any damn game console if it were to stop producing low quality beeps and start rocking out with real, live instruments.
The Red Wings are a band made up of three local punk-rock band members that take the music from their favourite videogames and arrange it for rock instruments in varying styles from heavy, driven punk/metal to soft, acoustic rock. By using guitar, bass, drums, and a selection of synthesised instruments played via keyboard, the band aim to create music that is recognisably videogame music, but also markedly different.
Each and every piece the band creates is individually arranged, with new sections often added or existing sections heavily edited. The band believe that the advantage of playing videogame music is in the emotions it evokes – nostalgia and memories of years of gaming, be it from recent Playstation 2 games or the old-fashioned bleeps of the NES. A wide variety of musical styles can also be explored within the wider genre of videogame music, providing interesting and constantly changing challenges for the band.
The band is currently putting the finishing touches to it's first album and is considering the option of Live Performances. The band's first CD will be a totally free download album, and they hope to play more live events soon. if you have any ideas, be it a convention, a gig or something entirely different feel free to contact us at redwings@apzonerunner.com or via MySpace message regarding playing live.
Hey thanks for adding me and making this rocking great music i hope to see more and btw zombies ate my neighbors is one of a few great video games with great music that not much poeple remix or cover so thinking about it plz

That was taken during the Distant Worlds concert in San Francisco. The butler outfit was the dress theme as rich people tend to dress like that I guess. I like your stuff Red Winds. And as part of a college radio station I'm more than happy to promote your music.
that would be fun. ive considered Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings, and I'm definitely gonna do the music from the first Robocop movie at some point, probably way down the road. but, im actually gonna try to concentrate on games for the next handful, preferably old-school. i'd like to do something really different, maybe a weird jazz cover or something. kinda like the black metal mario, only in the complete opposite direction. i dont know, i'll figure something out eventually.
thanks so much, really. now, i just have to figure out what to do next. i'm probably gonna take it easy for a bit, though. i havent gone near my studio since i finished it, haha.
