Tremor plays harmony laden guitar driven indie. Reference points might include The Stone Roses and Dandy Warhols. The South West band’s debut EP ‘Homebrew’ showcases their more melodic, radio friendly edge with lead track ‘Kinetic’ and ender ‘Where The Wind Blows’. Middle track ‘Out In The Open’ however is the track that has received heavy rotation on BBC Radio Bristol’s ‘Bristol Uncovered’.
The track hints at the more upbeat energy evident at early Tremor gigs over the last few months in Bristol, the surrounding area and notably Brixton. The song is joined in the live set by more instant potential indie anthems. As reviewer Jodie Humphries from Live Music Scene puts it ‘if you think of ‘Out In The Open’ as the pickle in a cheese and pickle sandwich it makes you remember how great bread really is.’
Singer and acoustic guitarist Matt Wescott, Rob Clarke on electric guitar and vocals, Si Bidwell on bass and Alex Browne on drums have performed all over the UK. Notably at Rock Garden, The Marquee and Astoria II in London as well as showcases in Camden and Soho. All major venues in Bristol and Bath have been covered playing alongside the likes of Newton Faulkner, Scouting For Girls, Fionn Regan, Dodgy and Trio Valore.
Festival appearances have included Glastonbury, Ocean Fest, Bristol’s Balloon Fiesta and T4 On The Beach for a group of musicians who built up quite impressive individual CV’s during several years spent apart. Since their reformation in November 2007 Tremor have really gained momentum with their well received live performances and steadily growing internet profile.
