Early Days .. In summer of 1993 Mario and Marko met at a party and they began hanging out shortly thereafter. Mario's father Peter Morschner, who was the bassist of several blues bands like POWER PROJECT BAND or THE 20th CENTURY BLUES BAND with lead guitarist and singer RIPOFF RASKOLNIKOV, setup a band practice room in the basement of their house. Mario invited Marko to his home and he agreed to start a band :) .. Together with today's fusion-jazz musician Alex Pinter, whom Marko knew from school they started a grunge band called JUNK, mostly covering songs of American rock band NIRVANA. JUNK played two gigs and the band lasted barely a few months before it disbanded, leaving the pair to move on searching for bassists. .. During their first few years playing together they were hosts to a rotating list of bassists, guitarists and singers until first and only organist Verhuur van Boten joined and became the third member in 1998. At that time Jonathan Knoglinger was the bassist and he gave the name STONED TIGERS. Unfortunately the band decided to seek out a replacement for Jonathan. Erwin Reisinger from today's Austrian rock band JERX who later moved to Berlin, followed up. .. In 2003 Phil Schwemmberger became the new bassist, saxophonist Jakob Karácsonyi joined the band for a few gigs as well as songstress Iris Mayer. It was the first incarnation of SLIPPERY SLOPE as live band along with a song named "Carry That Load", born because of a strange melody came up to Marko's mind. The band recorded also few other songs for making a first time computer based demo :) .. In 2005 Phil decided to quit from the band. At that time Rüdiger Leopold joined the band contributing more funky grooves into bands rocky manner. With Rüdiger on bass the band experienced a solid sound like never before. Sadly in 2006 he had to leave the band because of moving to England for study :( .. So Rüdiger introduced Gottfried Graber as his substitute for the band. With Gottfried Graber on bass and, yes a second Marko! - Marko Jandl - as lead vocalist the band recorded their first serious demo named "Carry That Load". On a PUMA KING & FRIENDS concert they soon met Wolfgang "Wolfi" Pucher as actual bassist and mixed more Reggae & Ska into band's sound :) .. Guest musicians like Marko Jandl, lead singer of reggae/funk/latin band THE ROSETTI SISTERS and latin band LOS PAPITOS, vocalist Konstantin Zwitter aka boMba $aMurai ...di I-RAZOR from Austrian reggae band MILLIONS OF DREADS, vocalist Heinz Wallner of progressive rock band MODULA NATION, trumpeter Kolja Radenković and electric violinist Boris Mihaljčić joined the band on gigs from time to time. .. In July 2009 Rüdiger came back from London and it was obvious that the band started to resume work with him. A fresh & funky sound to be continued… .. Unfortunately keyboardist Verhuur van Boten left the band in August 2010 and moved to Innsbruck to concentrate on his main profession. Bassplayer Rüdiger Leopold also left the band in the same year and was followed by Petar Bazdanović in November 2010. .. After that the band started to work on their Rock sound ... Yes indeed, since the early beginning of this millennium and influenced by a lot of people so far Slippery Slope still has got a hard-core of 3 members who keep on rockin' and mashin' up all of these influences by creating something mostly identified as some "kind of rock". .. .. Early Days

Mario invited Marko to his home and he agreed to start a band :)

Together with today’s fusion-jazz musician Alex Pinter, whom Marko knew from school they started a grunge band called JUNK, mostly covering songs of American rock band NIRVANA. JUNK played two gigs and the band lasted barely a few months before it disbanded, leaving the pair to move on searching for bassists.

During their first few years playing together they were hosts to a rotating list of bassists, guitarists and singers until first and only organist Verhuur van Boten joined and became the third member in 1998. At that time Jonathan Knoglinger was the bassist and he gave the name STONED TIGERS. Jonathan was follwed by Erwin Reisinger from today’s Austrian rock band JERX who later moved to Berlin.

In 2003 Phil Schwemmberger became the new bassist, saxophonist Jakob Karácsonyi joined the band for a few gigs as well as songstress Iris Mayer. It was the first incarnation of SLIPPERY SLOPE as live band along with a song named “Carry That Load”, born because of a strange melody came up to Marko’s mind. The band recorded also few other songs for making a first time computer based demo :)

In 2005 Phil decided to quit from the band because setting priority to his study. At that time Rüdiger Leopold joined the band contributing more funky grooves into bands rocky manner. With Rüdiger on bass the band experienced a solid sound like never before. Sadly in 2006 he had to leave the band because of moving to England for study :(

So Rüdiger introduced Gottfried Graber as his substitute for the band. Unfortunately keyboardist Verhuur van Boten left the band in August 2010 and moved to Innsbruck to concentrate on his main profession. Bassplayer Rüdiger Leopold also left the band in the same year and was followed by Petar Bazdanović in November 2010.

After that the band started to work on their Rock sound and recorded 4 demo tracks at SisiTop Studio in March 2011.

Yes indeed, since the early beginning of this millennium and influenced by a lot of people so far Slippery Slope is mashin’ up all of these influences as a power trio by creating something mostly identified as some "kind of rock".
