a moment of silence for a charming and sweet guy who will be greatly missed and is loved by friends, family, associates and many other. Nestor Hernandez, Jr, a good friend of my family who may as well have been family, best bud to my mom and awesome photographer, left this incarnation on 12 May 2006 and ascended back into the eternal light. he suffered from lung cancer and had been suffering a lot and is finally back at peace. may you rest in peace, Nestor.
an exhibit titled "Love, Loss, and Longing: The Impact of U.S. Travel Policy on Cuban-American Families" including some of Nestor's photography opened at the Rayburn Building across the street from the Capitol building on 11 May 2006 and will be on a national tour beginning in Alexandria, VA soon. you all should check it out. my grandmother Julie Waters will be speaking at the next viewing. she is also the face of the exhibit (the woman on the bridge looking off to the distance). i'll post a picture when i get one up.
the next reception and viewing of the exhibit will be tuesday 16 May 2006 at the Arlington Arts Center 3550 Wilson Blvd. Arlington, VA from 6:30pm til 9:00pm and the viewing of the exhibit will run until 3 June 2006.

back in the day (1997-8) i tried my hand at mixing up some beats. later, after honing and organizing that talent, we end up with what you hear now. originally i had a more techno and dark sound going on, and went by "ultrapoison" as i worked with random friends on some hard techno sounding tracks (pre-electroclash i guess you'd call it).
as it turns out, i did it better alone (given my selection), even as "ultrapoison..." so i continued to make tracks as ultrapoison. however, temporarily, that project had to be suspended while i ventured off into more of a pop-based and rhythmic/simple sound more stripped down to the bare essentials and more of a voice for the kinda shit i'd like to see, say and hear... thus resulting in the new name "Milton" (my name). this decision was also influenced by me getting way into Led Zeppelin again and the 70's in general. but mainly guitars, which i seem to be using more and more of. so i said fuck it! and i got a new one and am taking up learning again.
these days you may notice not so many new songs going on. "why?" you ask... i'll tell you why. because i'm working on some special guest appearances in my life in the form of all sorts of changes here and there. so, that's led me to focus a little more on the writing and guitaring side of the picture. so meanwhile, i'm working on that and it's coming along semi-smoothly. just working on gettin those catchy 4-liners down so you guys can have something to really make you shake your booties.
in the interim, i've decided to just keep some of the best pieces posted and from time to time, swap out some of the selected four for some of my other little masterpieces. so here they are, all served up, fresh from Milton's oven. bon apetit!
