.. .......... What do you want to do with your life? (copyright Twisted Sister)..... ..WE WANNA ROCK AND ROLL!...... Originally started as a musical amalgamation writing cheesy pop-influenced rocky punk, Ultraxine are a group of individuals who strongly believe in doing things their own way....whether this be drinking mugs of tea on the grimy streets of london, walking around sheffield in pyjamas, or even writing the occasional song..... Previously known under the moniker of "The Random Occasionals" (as we would meet only randomly and occasionally), but also involved with such high-rocking names as "Rock Granny Band" "Pink Death", and "Yayness" the band formed when rocking out some cheesy cover versions of pop classics for a great friend's Birthday Party..... We decided we wanted to write our own songs that you could drink to, dance to, and rock out a bit with. The kind of songs that would find themselves burrowed into your head the morning after the night before, with no idea as to how you'd been infected by them (other than it involving a rather good night!).... We are VERY PROUD to be a "do it yourself" outfit...everything you see here (or should that be see AND hear?) we've done ourselves...we write the music and the lyrics, we book the gigs, we design and create the artwork, we send out all the promo material...and, well, yes, we got in some help to record the album, but we did scrape our pennies together to pay for it ourselves...and we did learn how to do the next recordings ourselves in the process! We even make the tea (although you'd better be careful we don't drink it for you as well)..... That's about it really. The best is definitely yet to come...and we don't know what the future will bring - but we're REALLY looking forward to finding out!.... .......... The moment has finally arrived! This is our debut, fun-packed album, featuring ten of the rockingest tracks this side of rocksville. (It's important not to get too far away from Rocksville). Taz's bass playing is mainly influenced by her 5-cup-a-day Tea habit..... Kate's guitar playing is mainly influenced by her 5-cup-a-day Tea habit..... Sounds Like
sock and roll. roll and sock..... Brian Wilson's harmonies mixed in with the speed of the Ramones, whilst listening to Abba, Devin Townsend and Weird Al, with a cold beer in your hand, flicking through all the channels available to the world at 500 miles an hour and ending up with Spaced..... In reality, we write songs with harmonies, sing them with gusto and like to make a bit of a noise. A coherent noise, at that!
