Iyah Sincere a.k.a. James Foster, was born in Raleigh, N.C @ Wake Med Hospital, on April 6, 1987. Born the third child, to a family that would eventually welcome two more. His Father was Dwight Foster, a service technician for Overheard Doors, and cover band musician for over 20 years. Foster’s mother, Sharon Foster was a General and Op. manager for Luihn Foods., Taco Bell which would become Sincere’s first job at the age of 16. Three brothers, Dewarn Foster(27), Rickey Stewart(14), and Jarvis Martin(21), as well as, two sisters, Rosalyn(24), and Krystal(17). Raised in a middle-class background, attending local grade schools, and a year at Athens Drive High School, before being expelled due to lack of attendance. Foster excelled in grades, and test without even attending the class, but fell out of interest with school, and recording music, working full-time and partying. At the age of 17, Sincere welcomed his first child, Nikiya Sade’ Foster on February 18, 2005. Around Nikki’s birth, Foster began working on the entity New Blood Entertainment, which included 6 artists, spun from high school buddy label H Gang, which eventually led to the release of “The South Side Report” under the alias Nikal Sincere. The Southside Report, garnered moderate buzz with sole word-of-mouth promotion, and no real financial platform. Money problems slowed the momentum of the New Blood, which eventually folded and dismantled. A day after turning 19, Foster became a father again to another girl, Gjazelle-Saniyah Ayani Byrant on April 7, 2006. Around this time, Foster took a break from music, still writing, and tried to re-enter school again. After six months, and more money problem, Iyah had to stop school again and go back to working full-time. Discouraged and broke, working at Burger King for $6.15, decided to sell weed and crack to make extra money. After being set-up by undercover Raleigh Police Officers, Foster and a unnamed Co-De were arrested for Possession with intent to Sell and Deliver. After serving four months, Sincere reformed the New Blood under the new imprint Uma Di Hood. After hooking up with Great Wall C.E.O, Kash Fortune and appearing on Fortune’s songs such as “U Lose”, and “Vibe”, the relationship staled due to personal problems, and Sincere tapped DJ Mike C, to finish up projects for the highly anticipated street mix album, Propain V.1: The Re-introduction. The mix is slated for release on November 14, 2008 and includes some remakes, of We Di Hood favorite instrumentals like Clap Back, Make U Look (RMX), and Only You by Ashanti. One of the stand-out cover songs, is the remake of Jay-Z new single, entitled “Jocking Sincere”. The mix album also includes singles like “Reality”, and “Cipher” feat. Cap-o and Gully, leaks from the upcoming debut solo album “Heir”, available February 18, 2008 via Uma Di Hood/CD Baby. Look out for EVERYTHING Uma Di Hood had in store for 2009.
