The slow coalescing of a million ideas into a single, spectacular turd.
We are uMend and this is our bio. There's three of us. Scott hits the drums and yells stuff out, Darren plays guitar and yells a little less, and Hamish plays bass and yells pretty much continuously. We like to be democratic, so after some discussion we agreed that writing this bio in the third person the way everyone else does would be just too pretentious, so we'll be saying "we" a lot.
We play music we like playing. There's a growing pile of songs, we have the odd cover we mess with and we do self-indulgent noise jams at practice. Well why wouldn't you? We don't worry too much about what style of music we play but that isn't too helpful for a bio. If you're reading this it's because you're trying to find out something about us. We rushed out three songs at the beginning of the year at our home studio so we'd have a proper demo. You could check those out now if the player above works. Failing that here is an attempt to tell you something useful.
We are an Indie band. That's kind of unhelpful except that at least you now know we're not Country, Blues, Hair Metal, Disco, etc. We are also Post-Punk since we all have some of our roots in punk. We play jerky sometimes and noisy a lot. Maybe we're a Noise-Pop band. We do get quiet sometimes though, occassionally hitting a spacey vibe. Sometimes we hit a little Stoner-Rock. Mostly we play songs that people seem to like. We like to play pretty loud, we like to noodle, we love effects!
If you have questions about bookings, availability, CDs, etc., hit us up at umendband@gmail.com. Just don't ask where the band name comes from. Ever since Uncle Jed passed we don't like to talk about it.

City Baby Attacked By Dub
The song was recorded live June 29th at the Black Cat in Penngrove. Darren messed up his finger but Tim McKee stepped in at the last minute to cover guitar and save the show. Darren switched to keys and MCing for the night.
or like the Flaming Lips Album, Zareeka, or something similar, that's four discs/tapes that you are supposed to play at the same time, or just basically do whatever you want with it. Supposed to be like listener becomes the artist kind of thing...
