José Rubia Barcia (1914-1997) was born in El Ferrol (Galicia), where a cultural center dedicated to him now houses his library and a collection of his papers. He studied Arabic and Hispano-Arabic literature at the University of Granada. After completing his degree he held important positions in the Republican Army during the Spanish Civil War and as a consequence he went into exile, first to France and then to Cuba and then to the United States. Here he worked in Hollywood with the Spanish film director Luis Buñuel. Barcia published a great number of books and articles on Valle Inclán, Unamuno, Federico García Lorca and other writers of the 20th century. He was also an author of political essays. His translation of César Vallejo’s poetry, done in collaboration with Clayton Eshleman, received the “National Book Award” in 1979.

About me: [Mr. Howell:] The dinner was perfect until she opened her mouth.
Oh, Candy! (Yeah!) Oh, Candy! (Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!)
Behind her teeth fifteen rats started screaming and sobbing.
Candy Girl! (Yeah!) Candy Girl! (Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!)
I have dreams of car crash envy. Let's strap ourselves into aluminum vessels and shuttle down the highway at 140 miles per hour looking for just the right stretch of the road, just the right bank in the expressway to twist and turn and scream the night away.

Thanks for adding me as a friend, by the way. i consider it my duty to send random strange comments and inapropriate pictures as often as possible. i'll do the best i can.
so i just got really excited cause i was pretty sure while scrolling down my 'space comments that morissey had not only commented but wrote a full fledged paragraph. then i realized it was you and you're ridiculous excuse for indie pictures. i loved my bday present. i don't know how to change my top eight and by i don't know how i mean i don't have enough effort. if it's any consolation, you're number one on the top eight i just created...in my head. <#!
