    PORTUGUÊS: Os Ummadjam começaram em Setembro de 2004 quando o Mini Master, o Tiago Chef e o Gil resolveram juntar-se para fazer umas jam sessions para ver se conseguiam fazer alguma coisa na onda do funk jazz fusão. O resultado foi um entrosamento imediato que embora não fosse directamente de encontro ao objectivo inicial andava lá perto e especialmente a pica que deu aos três tocarem em conjunto foi o suficiente para pegar nalgumas das malhas que tinham saído e decidir tentar estruturar as coisas e formar uma banda. A base de improviso manteve-se agora com umas malhas de referência, mas quando em Novembro a banda deu o primeiro concerto, praticamente todo improvisado, a reação positiva do público deu a força final para decidir levar o projecto para a frente. Depois de várias mudanças na formação da banda com as respectivas entradas e saídas de Rubi na percussão, Sofia Freire no Sax e Eduardo Viana no Fender Rhodes, o João Fonseca acabou por ficar nas percussões e em 2007 o Mark Cain entrou nos saxofones para completar a formação actual. Continuam a explorar a fusão de diferentes estilos musicais numa espécie de banda sonóra de um filme que podia ser simultaneamente dirigido pelo Tarantino ou Kubrick, entre outros, incorporando samples em ambientes cheios de energia, paixão, subtileza e humor. º - º - º - º - º - º ENGLISH: September 2004. Mini Master, Tiago Chef and Gil decided to get together to jam out some funk jazz fusion ideas. The outcome wasn’t exactly what they had imagined, although it was interestingly close, but the most important thing was the kick they all got from playing together. So they decided to take some of the riffs that came out of the jams and structure them into songs. UMMADJAM was born. The basis of improvisation was a main feature but now headed up by strong melodic lines and when the band gave its first concert in November, 2004, the positive reaction of the audience was all that was needed for them to decide to take the project to the next step. After a number of changes in the line-up of the band with a variety of musicians coming and going including Rubi on percussion, Sofia Freire on Sax and Eduardo Viana on the Fender Rhodes, it was João Fonseca who ended up by staying on percussion and in 2007 Mark Cain accepted the invitation to play saxophone to complete the present formation.
