Ultra Mega Technobandið Stefán can be described as a rather rare phenomenon. Ultra Mega Technobandið Stefán started playing sometime in 2006 and within months had taken Iceland by storm, appearing on both television and radio after they had be runners up in the national battle of the bands. In October of the same year they played at Iceland Airwaves and created a scandal in the Icelandic scene with their over the top performance and stage presence. They have ascended to the stardom and infamy in their native Iceland and have started conquering the world – they have for example played in all the big cities of Europe among bands like Daft Punk and Chemical Brothers. With synths, bass and drums, they have created an exploding volcano of music, spewing forth energy, hysteria and chaos. UMTBS debut album, Circus, will be available in Iceland soon Stefán claims to perform a light-headed electroencephalogram techno/electro rock.
