Influences
many , maybe the likes of Belle & Sebastien, Low, The Lilac Time, REM, Cowboy Junkies, but some wont show up in the music; Pixies, GY!BE, Nick Cave, Will Oldham,Neil Young, Morrissey,Vic Chesnutt,East River Pipe, mojave 3,the locust... Just inspired by people who make music that seems vital, and usually in their own way uplifting. And sometimes its the words, sometimes its the music. most times its both
Uncle Black formed around the duo of Les King and Mike Aldridge. They have been recording on Backwater Records, a UK Independent releasing an eclectic mix of folk, country and prog-rock! since 2002
Musically it veers from upbeat , almost pop to darker, more reflective numbers; Losingtoday.com called clock prison sapping, but gem-like a contradiction which in part sums the music up.
We recently finished our second album
This feels like the record we set out to make.
