"One of the Ohio Valley's most dynamic musical duos brings a unique mix of ingredients and years of musical experiences to their act.... The chemistry between Robin and Ed Mahonen is apparent on many levels. For one, they are a husband wife team that harnesses decades of their two distinctive musical backgrounds which cross paths with their collaboration. They proudly stay grounded in their roots, and that pride resonates throughout their new CD, 'When We're Together'...... So what happens when you bring a quirky seasoned bluegrass man together with a girl with jazz royalty in her DNA? 'When We're Together' captures that unique mix..... Regardless of the songs they play, Uncle Eddie and Robin put their own flavor to it."
Eric Ayres, Times Leader, Ticket 10/30/08
"Mahonen's talents are in music, but he adds just the right amount of comedy to his songs. Laughter and music make for a great mix."

Uncle Eddie ... His guitar, silky vocals, intelligent, witty songwriting and wildly imaginative banjo playing make him a joy to hear. He blends elements of bluegrass, country, rock, blues, and folk into a unique and original style which he sometimes refers to as, ..plunk rock...
To this mix add Robin's crisp, imaginative harmonies, sultry lead vocals, and engaging stage persona and you have a whole which is greater than the sum of its parts.
Through Ed's recent cutting edge explorations with WV's premier jam band "The Recipe", the hard core traditional bluegrass of the "Short Crick Flatpickers", and
numerous appearances on the "Wheeling Jamboree",
..He has respected and preserved the rich musical traditions of the region while keeping it alive and evolving by taking it to new and unexpected places...

Just stopping over to say hello. I have never met you live, but know all about you because my mom grew up on Boutelle Street and was friends with your mom and dad. She misses them, I know as they were like second parents to her. We were looking at my baby book the other day and I have a letter written to me from your mom when I was born... it was really sweet that my mom kept it all these years because we loved Grandma Mahonen (as I always called her) I don't remember your dad, but have seen pictures of him. I sing, too and am working on my first album. Hope you and Robin are fine (and Susan and her family, too). We went to Boutelle Street last weekend and it made me think of your mom and made me want to write and say hi.
Sorry I've been mia from my new fav. spot DOMS. Been busy working on an album and trying to get a band together. Still working on getting a drummer. I hope to make it down to play a couple new songs I wrote. Hope to see you soon. Keep up the good work.
