This boy is a distance running fool. Following in the footsteps of my Dad (who ran 10 marathons including Boston) I love to run. Fortunately I have found a lovely training partner and travel companion. My eventual goal is to run a marathon in each of the 50 states. So, far I have 7 marathons down in 6 six states and the district of Columbia. So far in 2009 I have run the Mardi Gras Marathon in Louisiana and have marathons set for Kentucky (the Hatfield McCoy) and Hawaii (Maui).
Our Next Marathon is The Hatfield-McCoy Marathon this June.
Reading watching TV, going to baseball games, and to see friends. When the moon is in the right
alignment I get out to play a little golf as well. I love to go for a long walk or drive at night just to decompress. Man, I miss that long drive on out on the Islands I used to take in Florida. Cooking is play for me as well.
Music
Sam Cooke begat Rod Stewart, the Faces, and the Jeff Beck group who were followed by Nick Lowe and Graham Parker. Eventually the Georgia Satellites came and went followed by the Black Crowes and eventually Jet. Mix in some Tom Petty, Robert Palmer, Eddie Money, and some occasional country music and you have my musical taste.
Movies
I don't watch too many movies any more, but tend to go for comedies or documentaries when I do watch movies
Television
The Simpsons, any Baseball or football game, the History Channel, mythbusters, Jeopardy (oh yeah!), Food Network (RIP Emeril Live), Family guy, Weather Channel, CNN and the History Channel. I have found that since I have Cable again I don't really watch that much TV- go figure
Books
A Prayer for Owen Meany, the 158 pound marriage, The Cider House Rules, Love and Respect, Ultramarathon Man, Tuesday's with Morrie (and the other 2 books, they are basically the same), the Wedding, the Davinci Code
Heroes
I have found that I admire a lot of things about alot of people- great cop out, huh?
About me: I am an Adirondack boy currently living in Maryland. Life is good these days. I have my family and friends largely to thank for that and a job that doesn't usually drive me too crazy....along with my sense of juvenile humor and evening runs that keep me sane.
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone that has the secret to me qualifying for the Boston Marathon.
That's okay, I was complaining yesterday too and it was 20 something outside. But yeah...6 degrees and 10 below with wind chill!!!!!! OMG it is soooooooo cold!!! Why is it that we've lived in the cold a majority of our lives, yet it still comes as a shock to us??? lol
How have you been? How was your Thanksgiving? Will you be in Ti around Christmas at all? I caught up with Dave the day after Thanskgiving, which was nice.
