Bio
Once you’ve heard the unmistakable tones of “Uncle” Jim Cope, you’re an instant fan. His scratchy yet melodic voice, his plucky acoustic guitar and the salty stories of his life all add up to an evening of pure roots and blues entertainment. Jim has led a life few can imagine. Growing up in Toronto he imagined he’d become a United Church Minister, then later a fur trapper, only to find himself a sailor in the Canadian navy. In his own words, “ I done every kind of work ceptin’ brain surgery and spelling editer”. Having now released his second CD “Uncle Jim for Fifteen Bucks”, he looks forward to touring Canada, spreading his unique style and personality. “Fifteen Bucks” was recorded at Sound on Sound Studios in Peterborough and produced by rising singer/songwrite and /producer James McKenty.
