   About Uncle Joe's Medicine Show
Uncle Joe’s Medicine Show hails from upstate NY’s legendary funk rock and jam scene. Uncle Joe’s relocated to Atlanta Georgia at the end of 2005, ready to bring a new sound full of energy and groove to the south. With a sound that fuses vintage funk sounds with a soul lyricism, the band evokes the days of when groove and feel were first and foremost. Taking influences from late 60’s Blue Note organ funk and 70s soul they have made no mistake in getting familiar with the groove and getting a handle on the raw live elements of jazz, soul and rock. Their live shows are full of energy and groove and will keep you on the dance floor all night long. The members are: Brian Didsbury-Fender bass & vocals; Jeff Jeswald-Organ, Rhodes & vocals; John Halpin-Guitar; Gabe Fleming-Drums. Uncle Joe’s formed in the fall of 2001 and with each member a part of the State University’s media and audio programs they immediately excelled in recording and performing, self producing the 2003 release Sonic Tonic with their own production company The Jammers & The Brothers Dig. The band sold over 1,000 copies of the disc while playing festivals, clubs and events during and immediately following college. After moving to Atlanta Uncle Joe’s Medicine show began building a name for itself among the jam band scene opening for local funksters Entropy and gigging regularly around town at all of the local Atlanta haunts like The 5 Spot, Smith’s Olde Bar, Lenny’s, North River Tavern and Zuffy’s. Along the way, Uncle Joe’s Medicine Show has gigged with funk legends The Average White Band and they received local radio airplay in Western NY on WCVF Fredonia. In 2003 and 2004 their music was featured on PBS’s Homework Hotline across NY and for Bluff Magazine, a gaming publication. In April of 2008 Uncle Joe’s Medicine Show performed at the Sweetwater Brewery 420 Festival, where they opened for Local favorites The Last Waltz and Hammond B3 legend Ike Stubblefield. Stubblefield was quoted as saying “These guys sound like old school New York!” Indeed they do. Uncle Joe’s Medicine Show will be performing around Atlanta in support of their upcoming release and will continue to bring a blend of funk, jazz, rock and soul to those of a newer generation. They are an unstoppable funk machine that will let nothing stand in the way of their pursuit of musical integrity and pure groove. Hey Johnnie Blues and Mr Killis,

Yo-ho, just writing to say come down to Charleston, me and Pickel will be there from may 13-15, which is midweek, but gimme a call... 347-599-1235, or email jdrobitaille@gmail and i'll get you more info.

but in other news fellas, just wanted to say i played a gig the other day in williamsburg, brought my strat over there that i put the texas special in, and brought a blues junior there, but when i got there, they had a sweet old music man, anyways, i got a lot of compliments after for my tone (and the half ass kraz licks i learned on the couch in cheektavegas!). but just wanted to say thanks for teaching me a few things:

1. Middle EQ is the heart of guitar tone.

2. Stratocasters straight into fender tube amps are the shit and a way of making milk of the ears of the audience.

3. How to properly get the overarching underbill to fit under the overpass.

Cool yall, hope to see you soon!

Sometimes I get under it in the car. Sometimes at the gym. Everytime I'm under it is enjoyable. I've found the best way to get under it, though, is through headphones. They provide the most direct pump for the funk to reach my earhole.
