Uncle was a Manhattan & Brooklyn-based rent-stabilized garage rock band that released two records of original material - "Thanks For All The Lemons" (1995) and "Moving On To Solids" (1998) - on the Slugg Records imprint, appearing extensively in the NYC-area as well as up and down the East coast during the mid and late 90's.
The line-up included chief songwriter, Michael Wells (guitar, vocals), Chas Milton Braun (lead guitar, vocals), Gregg Rochman (bass, vocals) and a Spinal Tap-like series of drummers - Bruce DeTorres (1994-95), Simon Braund (1995-96) and finally Yves Gerard (1996-99).
The group disbanded in 1999.
Wells and Gerard went on to form a new group, Bipolar Explorer, releasing their debut "Go Negative", also on Slugg, in 2005.

I've just about sobered up since turning the drum sticks over. My Uncle memories are some of my best, even though I was out of my mind most of the time. Wells, Chas, Rockman - thanks and much love. A reunion would be all the heaven I ever need. Bruce
