About Jeremy Baguyos: Double Bassist & Computer Musician
Attracted by the esoteric, yet, multi-disciplinary art of academic computer music, Jeremy Baguyos has been actively involved in various facets of electroacoustic and computer music since 1999, the same year he joined the 21st Century Ensemble. His computer music work has been presented and performed in twenty five states and nine countries with notable performances and presentations at the International Computer Music Conferences in Belfast United Kingdom (ICMC 2008), New Orleans (ICMC 2006), and Montreal (ICMC 2009), the Seoul International Computer Music Festival (2008), and multiple appearances at the annual conference of the Society for Electroacoustic Music in the United States (2005/2007/2008/2009). He has published articles in Journal SEAMUS, Bass World, Computer Music Journal (MIT Press), and the Proceedings of the International Computer Music Conferences of the International Computer Music Association. Favorite projects include sound installations and interactive computer improvisation. He enjoys an appointment as Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Nebraska (Omaha) where he teaches courses in Digital Synthesis/Multimedia, Audio Recording, and Applied Double Bass. His research areas include interactive computer music composition and electronic performance environments. He hosts Virtual Music Week, a week-long festival of computer music, at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He is also Principal Bass of the Des Moines Metro Opera Orchestra. In a past life that revolved around rehairs, string gauges, fifteen excerpts and the perfect rosin, he held full-time symphony orchestra posts with the Orquesta Filarmonica de GC (SPAIN) and the Shreveport Symphony in addition to freelance stints with the Milwaukee Symphony, the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, and the National Symphony. He has also been a member of the regular faculty of Indiana-Purdue University at Ft. Wayne. He holds a BM from the Indiana University School of Music where he was a bass student of Bruce Bransby and a MM in Computer Music-Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University. Biking, skiing, and bowling seem to be his only hobbies that have absolutely nothing to do with music. He hopes to improve his golf game so he won't embarrass himself during office hours.

Hey Jeremy, thanks for finding me, and I'm so glad you like the songs (even if a ways away from Prokofiev)! Your stuff has a really cool vibe... elizabeth
You jerk! You and your computer wouldn't know good music if it came up and bit you in the motherboard! Just because they don't "swing" and "jive" doesn't mean they're any less worthy of recognition than your heroes and inspirations!
Seriously though, how the heck are you? Haven't heard from you in ages! How's Omaha treating you? I hope you and the family are well! Take care, Jeremy!
thanks, they caught him thank god. I'm heading down to kentucky for a week. there's a recording school in lexington(the lexington school of music), hopefully its what i'm looking for.
Apparently Rich Horner runs Finale in Linux, meaning he's not l33t enough for Score. I noticed a post on the Wine site rating Finale 2007 as Gold status, meaning you can run it in with Wine very well with minimal effort. Whatcha doing in that Profile picture? Are you tangling wires? You making a new piece that derives all its sounds from running signal cables and power cables in a certain matrix to produce phasing patterns in the 60 Hz hum?
