Uncommon Records is a record label that releases progressive hip hop in a progressive way. Running a record label is like being trappped in a maze at times, sometimes your able to run down long hallways unimpeded by anything or anyone, other times your met with blockade after blockade keeping you from achieving your goal. The answer to this problem is to attempt to tear down the walls of the maze with new ways out, thus explaining our labels motto.
Uncommon Records was started by Nasa and Cirrus in 2003 with the mission of releasing the best and most progressive hip hop possible. Thus far, we've done that. Now it's time to finish what we've begun. The way that we finish this is by being the kind of label that thinks ahead of the curve, not just creatively but in the way we deliver and promote records to the public as well.
This is why we as a label are attempting very bold steps in the form of digital media. We are today, the only record label in hip hop that is deliberatley releasing records that fit into a "niche sound" in the digital only medium. Every one of our releases is handpicked because of it's inherent progressive qualities, not based on what we think it will sell or the attention it could garner. The digital medium allows us as a label to advance the creativity of our artists by allowing us to get many more releases out to the market than would have been possible due to the incredibly high manufacturing costs that exist out there. What we feel will take place now is cyclical, the technology helps a musical movement grow and the musical movement helps people discover the technology that's out there. We still believe strongly in the organization that it takes to run a record label. We have no plans of dumping great releases into a sea of oversaturated retailers. We will be promoting all of our releases to all traditional forms of media, but will take a special interest in promoting to media that also advances the technology such as bloggers, internet media sites and the new forms of radio (internet, satellite and digital). The mission of Uncommon Records is to continue to think outside of the box, beyond digital releases, you've already seen it with our Uncommon Radio program here on the site and our new made to order merch store. The bottom line is that anything that helps us advance our musical agenda quicker and easier is something we will take advantage of.
At the same time, Uncommon Records will be releasing full length albums on cd and exclusive mix cds as well throughout the forseeable future. We hope that fans of the label will enjoy tracking down our releases no matter what the medium or method is. At the end of the day our creditbility is what matters most to us. Our goal, is and always will be to release progressive hip hop and that will never waver from the first release to our last. We stand for a revolution within the music business and within the music scene as well.

Lenzmen Centri ‘s long awaited first solo album Article 15: The Rebel Knowledge Story is Finally OUT!!!!!
Article 15: The Rebel Knowledge Story. It’s a pro-soldier album that pulls no punches, and it’s the rawest uncut album to date on this subject in the genre of hip hop. It’s a powder keg that captures the angst of every soldier that’s ever had to iron a pair of BDU’s (camouflage uniform), and it should be issued to every soldier with their boots and M-16. Trust me it’s brings forth the TRUTH.
Peace nasa! Come out on the 24th if you can i'm already building with my team about Pressence rocking in possibly May or June i will keep you posted oh yeah and the hectic video was one take real throw back joint!!!
