Comedy, theatre, music and dance. If you can offer the best of any of these and want to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe, I would be interested in hearing from you.
Things like this (one of our best and most popular shows in 2006) would be good:
Music
Anything considered.
Movies
Raging Bull, The Udders, Festival, Bull Durham
Television
Doctor Moo, Moo Wants to be a Millionaire
Heroes
Ed & Charlie, Sitting Bull, Benicio del Toro, Dustin Hoofman
About me:
I am a large purple cow that comes to graze in Underbelly's Pasture (aka Bristo Square, Edinburgh) every August. Underbelly is a collection of venues operating at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. This summer I have also been to the seaside in Brighton. In the future I hope to travel further, perhaps to see the sights of London - I have always fancied the London Eye - and perhaps some greener pastures in the country too. I have even hankered after some foreign travel, assuming someone will pay my airfare.
I am becoming quite a famous celebrity, with sponsorship from E4 regular appearances in the broadsheet and tabloid press - and was even seen regularly on telly (Channel 4 and E4) in 2006 being lassoed by Russell Brand, no less. Check out the video. I have also been seen on TV hosting the Scissors Sisters and others on T4's Transmission.
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone who likes comedy, theatre, music or dance. With 300-400 people passing through my doors for every show and up to 8 shows a day, there's room for everyone!
I am also interested in meeting anyone who wants to take me out for dinners, parties, product launches etc. But what I really want is for someone to pay for my ticket to Glastonbury, V, T in the Park or any of the other big outdoor festivals! If you do, I'll bring the comedy!
I'm also looking forward to meeting the fab shows produced and co-produced by Underbelly Productions this year in Edinburgh - see you there!
Look what we did on our holidays. Ooh, and now you can buy tickets for our new Edinburgh show in August. Go on, you know you want to (click the big picture to play the video, click the logo to buy tickets). Loving your work.
THEN... GLiTCH RETURNS WITH THE VERY TALENTED MILTON JACKSON OF FREERANGE RECORDS GLiTCH Vol 3 HOUSE, ELECTRO, MINIMAL - TECHNO SATURDAY 7th JUNE 2008 With Special Guest MILTON JACKSON (IDM / FREERANGE RECORDS) www. myspace. com/miltonjackson06 www. freerangerecords. co. uk Barry Christie AKA Milton Jackson has achieved a lot since kicking off his production career at the age of 19. His first EP ended up on a Roger Sanchez's Mixmag compilation so from the outset the bar was set high. A dedication to electronic music and days on end locked in the studio perfecting his dark, techno influenced deep house music has resulted in a considerable discography. A few years down the line and Milton is still at the top of his game, putting out a constant flow of EPs on a multitude of heavyweight labels, including Freerange, Urbantorque, Tsuba and Silver Network. DJ dates followed at venues such as Fabrik/Goa (Madrid), Womb (Tokyo), Sonar Festival (Barcelona) and Maria (Berlin). Being regularly played and charted by the likes of Carl Cox, John Digweed, Funk Dvoid, Jimpster and Ben Watt has put Milton Jackson at the forefront of the house music scene across the globe. Most recently Miton's Freerange outing 'Cycles' was a huge hit with the follow-up single 'Ghosts in my Machines' headed for similar acclaim. With a Freerange album in the makings, a remix for Joey Negro's Sunburst Band and a busy DJ-ing calender, 2008 sees no let up in the rise and rise of Milton Jackson. If you know anyone who lives anywhere near Glasgow tell them not to miss The Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre's FREE show this Saturday March 8th at the Glasgow Britannia Panopticon Music Hall at 7.45pm.
The show's free, with a voluntary collection at the end, and the venue is a slice of history - the music hall where Stan Laurel made his debut and where Charlie Chaplin played.
