finally! the pre-order for the first of two LPs UCR is releasing this summer for the fantastic Long Island NY band CAPITAL. This is the debut proper full length, Homefront. This one is 13 songs of melodic hardcore that evokes the greatness of bands like Avail, Quicksand & Dag Nasty! Topped off by the unmistakable vocals of Tommy Corrigan who gained a bit of notoriety with his old bands Silent Majority and Blood Red. The CD version of this album was released last year by REVELATION RECORDS!!! We're happy to bring you the vinyl version. The band also features ex members of the Reformation and current Thieves and Assassins. This LP is $8(+$3 for shipping)
This LP will be available on two colors, clear blue and clear gold. Capital "Homefront" pre-orders color problem
Hi everyone,
There's been a problem at the pressing plant that is pressing the Capital LPs. Here's the deal:
the plant I'm having the two Capital records pressed at ran out of colored vinyl. I know this sounds ridiculous, but this is actually happening to a lot of plants around the country. the supply of colored vinyl is limited right now...so they neglected to tell me this, so I'm sorting that problem out.
so my solution, at least for Homefront, is that they're going to press the records on at a 200/300 split(or at least a 150/350 split) on:
/200(or at least 150) black (instead of blue)
/300(or around 350) grey/messy/undefined colors (instead of gold)
so what I need you to do is if you ordered the "rarer color" from ME, not VinylCollective.com, let me know if you'd like to change that to one of the marble colors.
I have no idea what I'm gonna get color-wise...I'm just tired of this record not being here and instead of waiting around for them to get more color in, this is the solution that I can get two color options out of them to at least fulfill the orders that both I and Virgil/VinylCollective.com have.
So, to clarify:
if you ordered a package of the two colors, you'll get a black LP and a random color.
if you ordered the "blue" option, you'll get a black LP.
if you ordered the "gold" option you'll get a random, probably grey-ish color.
please feel free to email me any questions or concerns at: undergroundcommunique@gmail.com
if you're ordering from overseas, generally the cost is $13.60 for International First Class shipping, so click on the following link for the record, $21.00. If you'd like to order more than one copy, EMAIL ME FIRST, the shipping will be CHEAPER on multiple copies. Also, one lucky person will win their very own test pressing of this LP through a lottery drawing. Each person that orders the record will get a ticket, it's not based on how many records you order...one ticket per name. VinylCollective.com is also giving away a test pressing..but me and Virgil will not award the winner of this test pressing to the same person. Good Luck!
the MethadonesCareer Objective.

Channels / Iron Reminders (Scott Harmless calls this my MANIFESTO)
This label is about supporting bands who I feel the world needs to hear.
Not all of my bands can tour because hey, that's fucking reality.
The few that can, do as much as they possibly are able to do.
This label isn't run off of a trust fund.
This label is financially funded through Union Wages and Union Labor.
This label is financially funded by you.
I run this label because I believe in these bands. This label is run by one person out of their bedroom.
(^^^^ok, I have a small office now because my current apartment is too small to run the label out of it...so I rent a closet to keep my stuff in now.)
Do I accept demos? Yes.
But I'm telling you right now, I won't put out your record. I'm eyeball deep in debt as it is and I have some secret things in the works. So any new projects are out of the question. ... BUT! if you decide to send me something anyway...don't just send a cdr and absolutely no other information about your band. Even if it's a hand written letter...tell me something about your band.
If you have a specific store you like to buy records from, they can order ALL of our releases from the distributor Choke They can be reached via john@choked.com or chuck@choked.com The store buyer should know who that is, so tell them to order it for you and please try to support the mom and pop/indie record stores as much as possible before you give you money to a corporate store!
It was an honor beyond all others that I was lucky enough to get to release one, let alone two J Church 7" records. Thankfully because he was such a prolific songwriter, there is a wealth of his music out there waiting to be discovered. Do yourself a favor and make a worthwhile journey down that road. Thanks for everything Lance, we all really miss you.
Ambition MissionDiscographyCD
One of the truly great punk rock bands from Chicago. They played a style akin to East Bay bands like Hickey, Crimpshrine or the Avengers but somehow made it all their own too. This is a REPRESSING of the very first Government Music release (my old record label). New art and lyrics!!! (pre This is My Fist, Fourth Rotor, Canadian Rifle & Chronic Seizure, among many other great bands the members have spent time in)!! THIS WILL BE EXACTLY THE SAME AUDIO CD AS THE GOV'T MUSIC VERSION, NO BONUS TRACKS BECAUSE THIS HAD EVERYTHING THEY EVER RECORDED!CapitalSignal Corps LP
“Signal Corps” is the “extreme demo” CD that was released on Iron Pier, but this time it’ll be on 12" vinyl, limed to 500 copies on 2 colors. stay tuned for more details.
CD version of Signal Corps on Iron Pier Records(through RevHQ.com)the MethadonesNot Economically Viable LP. the Third Methadones album, a unique and amazing record...partially a concept record based on the movie Falling Down. They broke free a bit from the usual Ramones-core sound on this one and incorporated more of their power-pop influences that would be put on full display with the following record(their 21st Century Power Pop Riot cover song compilation, on Red Scare).
the MethadonesThis Won't Hurt... LP.
the most recent Methadones full length record and like all their previous albums, doesn't quite sound like anything else they've done. Maybe a little more emotional, fueled by a little more jaded lyrics...but some of the best goose-bump delivering harmonies they've ever created. Recorded at Atlas Studios by Matt Allison, this is IMO the best the band has ever sounded on record. This one, will have one bonus track not found on the CD version, and will probably be the next record we do. Get Stoked.
CD version on Red Scare Records the Bhopal Stiffs-1985-1989 LP
Yes! One of the great Chicago punk rock bands from the 80's finally sees some re-issue magic on vinyl! This great band lasted only a few years but made some really amazing music in that time. Two members of this band, singer/guitarist Larry Damore and bassist Steve Saylors formed Pegboy not long after their break up. So if you're a fan of Pegboy, the Effigies or Naked Raygun...you'll definitely like this!!!! This will be a co release with Lengua Armada Records! This will be all studio songs from the discography on vinyl, but it will come with a copy of the CD, that has all the LP tracks plus all the bonus live songs(some of which are unreleased/never properly recorded songs. This one is going to take a while because we're going to update the artwork from the Harmless Records version and try to include as many old flyers, set lists, etc. as possible...make it as fun and informative as possible.
Olehole (pronounced oh-lay--ho-lay)
Debut full length LP from this new East Bay band. Originally I asked Brian to let me do their first 7"...I've been a big fan of his bands for a long time, so when he sent me their demo I was just instantaneously in love again. Well...the 7" turned into a possible split 7" then maybe a split 10" then the next thing I knew he's calling me and telling me he wants me to do the LP. Fuckin A. So eventually I get the unmastered full length. I kid you not, 20 seconds into it, I already know this is the best record I've ever heard from him. It's back to angry Brian. The demos songs re-recorded are decimating. The dynamics of the band are killer. Ryan from American Steel recorded it at his Sharkbite Studios and he did a hell of a job. The clarity of the instruments is there but it's fucking HUGE. If you''re a fan of their old bands: the Ghost, Burial Year, Quest for Quintanaroo...you have a good idea how good this is..but i can't wait until everybody hears it.

ChannelsWaiting For the Next End of the World / Open EP 2xLP
Details are still being worked out on this but the plan is this will be both the full length and first EP from this Baltimore / Washington DC area band. The EP was released by Desoto and the full length Dischord, neither on vinyl...until now. Classic DC style post punk played by "some very well respected hacks of the music industry" (don't worry, that's a inside joke).

the Romeros / ChivalriesTBA split 7"
Two hardworking Chicago punk rock bands teaming up for a battle of biblical proportions! ...ok, not really, but they're two great bands from Chicago that you probably aren't familiar with, but should be! More info TBA
