So we made and entered a short film called "Drama" for Nikon's 140 Second and got selected to be one of the fifty to compete out of around 200 entries! The Jury Award is 100k and the Audience Award is 25k and I can tell you right now I've never had a 1 in 50 chance at anything like that!

The Audience Award is based on Votes, Views and Comments. Ever since they posted the 50 we've been floating in the Top 10, by and large in the Top 3. Were literally just points away from being able to win this thing! Our films only 140 Seconds so I promise it won't take long to watch! On the simple page we set up it shows you where you need to vote to give us 5 stars and help us with the votes. You don't even have to register to vote, just a mouse click! If you have the extra time to fill out their simple registration and leave a comment all the better. And if you can think of any way to help us get the word out please do! This means so much to everyone who was involved.

So here's the link and here's our entry "Drama". Thanks SO much and hope you like it! Please please vote!

"Before he has a chance to think too much, struggling filmmaker Michael Davis throws himself wholeheartedly into crafting a celluloid valentine for Stacie, his very recent ex-girlfreind and soul mate. What could go wrong? Even Michael couldn't have predicted the unbelievable twists and turns he would capture on his camera in the following days, which would eventually evolve into the feature "For Love & Stacie" - at once aa courageous, cathartic, hopelessly romantic testament to the lengths to which we will go for love, and a darkly comic, almost-too-honest, painfully familiar odyssey through the kind of misery and psychological debasement that only a loved on is capable of infliclting"

"A no-budget mini-masterpiece of Austin ingenuity, For Love & Stacie is this city's best-kept film secret."

"Guys are capable of committing an infinite amount of stupid acts in trying to get a girl. Its just that most of them dont do it while a videotape is running."

So this is just a wee little personal rant, I get absolutely nothing for telling people about it, but after years of groveling posting my vids on crappy sights like YouTube, MySpace, and a good handful of others who only care about having a crap load of videos and don’t mind them looking like shit I finally stumbled on one that does it right. It’s called Vimeo. It’s free. You can upload up to 500mbs a month, which has been enough for me to get most of my stuff up there even in HD, and YES, they allow HD! The quality on their site just smokes the rest, no comparison. Almost anyone I know who has posted video on the web has bitched about how bad it sucks, well, here’s the solution.

The vids look awesome, and you can easily make a widget like I have on my main MySPace page that will roll through the different video’s you have on there. And yes, you can embed them to your myspace page.

Beyond that they have a great community, I so far haven’t seen anyone talking shit about anyone elses work. Everyone is pretty chill and encouraging.

New content is going up all the time so even if you don’t post your own videos (yet) at least ya can sign up, browse around, tag the ones ya like or leave a comment, and add me as a contact.

Again, I personally have no stake in Vimeo, other than I think they have done and incredible job at making a video site what it should have been from the beginning. From the top down they post on the forums, comment on vids, and are down there in the trenches. My only hope is that the community grows and more people who need a place for their vids and are tired of YouTube and MySpace making great looking goods look like ass can have a place where they know they’re vid is gonna look their best., even in FULL HD.

End Rant! If ya find time go check out some of my vids. If your inspired get a free account and post some feedback and add me as a contact. And then, if nothing else, get those cell phones that take vid to work and start uploading!!! =)

PS I should be posting a new vid from SX tomorrow night on Vimeo.

Been busy as a bee here lately, thankfully putting this equipment that I had been pinning for for months to good work. Several editing projects still ongoing, Pre-produciton on a music video, and got two shoots scheduled for SXSW. Hoping I can pick up one or more before the shenanigans begin.

Outside of that, just still loving Viemo to death. If ya do video, get your videos on Vimeo NOW! Theyre all just first rate accross the board. And the quality, oh how I love the quality. I'm more excited than I had ever been cuz theyre encoding is just amazing. Streaming HD, gotta love it!!! Check out mine and my videos here:

Anyway, it's late, I'm tired, but I wanted ta post just a little sumfin sumfin just to keep in the habbit. =)
