After 3 years of writing songs as a three piece, underMind solidified as a group in mid 2003. The five piece band formed at Rowan University with members from all over New Jersey. Membership reads as follows.
Brian "Mr." Pistone, underMind drummer and producer, manages their recording studio, Demolition Production House (http://brianpistone.tripod.com), and supplies the dynamic metalic grooves, head bangin pulse, and signature climactic build-it-up-break-it-down stomp; all driven by technical double bass.
Jay Ryan, underMind rhythm guitarist, tightens low end rhythms and is a master of event booking and networking with other music professionals. His management skills allow Undermind greater control of both the quality and quantity of thier live performances.
Pete Ware, the newest member of underMind has an attitude and style that is a perfect fit with the band. Pete adds to the party vibe and groove of the band, not to mention his heavy evil influences bring more death to the pits.
Ryan "SmErf " Hahn, former underMind bass player and present vocalist, now screams songs about the good life. With his comical stage persona and true to life lyrics, "SmErf" is always entertaining and engaging the crowd.
Jay Leib, underMind lead guitarist, captivates with his unique style and vast knowledge of music theory. Jay also has an extensive techincal background, from fixing electronics to fixing cars, which keeps underMind up and running.
underMind is always looking for ways to expand their franchise. The acquistiion of a van and trailer supplies transportation to tour other markets. Their first album "FIGHT" is quickly spreading their music to hardcore fans at shows and on the streets. With the first album finished underMind is now seeking distibution and our beginning work on their second album.
