Under the Gun started in 2004 as a Punk Cover band in Killeen/ Fort Hood, Texas. Once a local fan base started to develop, people would always ask "Why don't ya'll play original music?" That being said, Under the Gun began to drink a lot of beer and started writing music that was a throw back to the Punk/Thrash scene of the late 80's early 90's. Under the Gun’s first self titled EP was released and the track "Six Pack and a Bong" received local airplay on FM 107.3 KLFX "The Fox Rocks".
After receiving small town success, we took our music and moved to Austin,Texas to record our first full length album. Under the Gun quickly gained notoriety from many veterans of the Austin punk scene and began playing with punk legends like Born to Lose, M.O.D., and Dynamite Boy. We are usually on the road monthly, developing scenes in Dallas, San Antonio, Killeen and Temple, Texas. Under the Gun leaves a lasting impression on all their audiences with its high stage energy, comical crowd interaction, and great Punk Rock! Under the Gun is what punk was before guys started wearing their sisters pants and make up! We’ll be drinking at your bar soon!

This is Ian, events coordinator for In The Flesh Tattoo Studio. We just had Under The Gun tonight and man was it awesome. I can't believe these guys aren't major. Seriously, they've got it. They are real pros. I mean, who else can do a punkish cover of "Just What I Needed" that I actually dig? Seriously,I am not easily pleased. Who else but Will can play a show after getting his hands inked? What a bad ass. They did start earlier than the eleven o' clock time I advertised, but it was no big deal. They were cool enough to do a few more songs for those who came later. I am sorry if you didn't get to hear all their original stuff. Pick up a CD of theirs and check it out. "Triple A" is my favorite live song they do. It is truly awesome to get to bring in one of your favorite local bands to "your place" they we do here at In The Flesh

Playing out of Austin Texas, Under The Gun’s 07 full length release “Drinking My Life Away” offers an array of sounds that perfectly compile key ingredients of Punk, Ska, and Reggae. Reminiscent of the sounds of early Alkaline Trio, NOFX, and Face To Face, this album can stand alone as the “must party to” album of 2008. Let hope they don’t drink their lives away too soon, as it would be a shame to not expect any future releases from this Texas foursome.
