Unified Theory were formed in January 2003.
Originally made up of Bruno Morais (drums), Luís Anjos (guitar) and André Gouveia (bass), the band went through a series of personnel changes to find the present line-up. In February, Paulo Pacheco took up the free vocal slot and Nuno Tavares took over on keyboards. Daniel Martins later replaced André on bass.
Their first live performance was the result of an invitation from the Seixal Town Hall in June 2003. This kick-off went on to open new doors for the group and led to several other invitations, including the “Black October” festival organized by FNAC.
Unified Theory started off 2004 with a demo (Prison), which reflects all their hard work and dedication.
This demo got them invited to several competitions including: Coma (Aveiro 2004); 6th Contrabandiste festival in Lisbon; Évora battle of the bands; 5ª mostra de música moderna (Paleão) (www.paleao.net), which they went on to win; Manhete Rock (Barcelos 2004); 3rd Edition of RockOeste; Rock 11 de Setembro; AlémRock (Beja), where they came in first place; Festival de Música Moderna do Crato; GA-ROCK 2004; Bandas de Garagem on cable TV SMSTV; 7th Contrabandiste festival, where they came first again; Rockastro´s 2005; Entroncamento´s 1º Concurso de Música Moderna (2005); Rock ao Rubro II organized by RockHouse Café with the support of Loud magazine; “Portugal a Tocar” o contest with live TV coverage on RTPN, organized by ALIEN Events in conjunction with IberRock and Festival Ibérico de Rock, at TheDayAfter, in Viseu.
As well as the competition in 2005, Unified Theory were among the headliners at the Super Arraial do Instituto Superior Técnico (Unified Theory - Fonzie - Pedro Abrunhosa) and the Metal Power Iberic Tour 2005 (with Segle XIII) and were the warm-up act for Xutos&Pontapés (at the Festas de Corroios). This constantly-evolving young band are constantly searching for an original sound and a niche of their own in the musical universe where they can do what they like doing best: play, give and feel.

Queremos salientar o facto, de que, a Ekxtaktika - Associação Artistas Underground Unidos, não compõe a Organização deste evento. O nosso papel resume-se em ajudar a dinamizar e a elevar ainda mais um projecto, que tem marcado o panorama musical regional e nacional, nestes últimos 13 anos.
Pretendemos também, á semelhança do que aconteceu anteriormente, de se proporcionar ás mais variadas e diversas bandas portuguesas, apoiadas, promovidas, ou até mesmo simpatizantes pelas causas e objectivos da nossa associação, a conhecerem melhor este Mega-Festival, organizado pela Junta de Freguesia de Corroios, de forma, a lhes serem proporcionadas oportunidades que, actualmente no nosso meio musical alternativo (vulgo Undergound), não lhes são disponibilizadas facilmente.
Temos vários exmplos recentes, de bandas que têm conseguido utilizar a divulgação e promoção deste Festival a todo o mercado discográfco e sobretudo ao grande público.
Nomes, tais como, Poppers, Dapunksportif, Yellow W Van, Skalibans, Ashfield, Luazzuri (actualmente reencarnados nos Zedisaneonlight), entre muitos outros.
