"It's our duty as Americans to keep our government in check, and protest policies with which we disagree. Letters From The Front!
----------------- Original Message ----------------- From: Nu?o Date: Feb 19, 2008 6:04 PM I just received the comp in the mail and listened to it at once. Being a veteran, I couldn't help but get quite emotional when listening to the selection of bands and songs, along with reading the liner notes. All of the memories, hardships, friendships and feelings that have stuck with me since 2001, hit me all at once. Words cannot express how proud I am of all of you and the bands that have made this possible. This is the prime example of what separates the punk and hardcore scene from everything else. God bless, and thanks again. -Nuno

    US ARMED FORCES!
MY DAD - MSG Ret. Jimmie Quintero (US ARMY - 27 YEARS)
MY COUSIN - 1LT Andrew Choe (US ARMY)
LURU's PEPE - MG Ret. Christopher Adams II
MY FRIEND - Sergeant Randall D. Watkins (Marine Corp)

    Here is Sergeant Watkins' story:
In 1999, Sgt. Watkins joined the U.S. Marine Corp two days after graduating from high school. He was 17 years old. It was the morning of September 11, 2001, that Sgt. Watkins witnessed the tragic crash of American Airlines Flight 77. While he was stationed in Iraq, tragedy struck when a suicide bomber driving a passenger van drove in the path of Watkins and his platoon. The bomb went off and several of Watkins’ comrades were killed instantly. Sgt. Watkins was struck by shrapnel in both of his knees, right arm, chest and face. Already littered with shrapnel in his body, an insurgent shot Watkins four times in his chest to try and finish the job. Miraculously, Watkins survived.
"I underwent thirteen surgeries in all. The final summary ended up being permanent nerve damage in my left arm and permanent knee damage to my left leg. There were countless acts of heroism above and beyond from nearly every one of the Marines who were there on that day. I am alive. You won't hear me complain."

    Sergeant Randall D. Watkins

We thank God for you every night and pray for your safe return. May these songs help bring you strength and the courage you need to endure, serve and bring diversion to your everyday routine. We wish you and your buddies safe from harm’s way throughout your tour of duty. May you return home soon to a true hero's welcome. Thank you and God Bless! Love, Rose & Craig Holloway

Background Info: Sameer formed Two Steps Back with Ian and Matt like 8-10 years ago (thanks to prodding from Megan Bowen and Rick from 25 Ta Life). They played together for a few years and then 9/11 happened, Sam went up to live in Jersey and was so moved by what he saw at ground Zero he went to go fight in the war on Terror. He was a sgt. in the army, and we lost him in Iraq. I'd like to invite you and all your friends to check out (and hopefully subscribe to) my blog concerning the launch of my new novel, Child Finder. My book has already received some great reviews before its official release on June 9th. It is a mystery/suspense thriller -- and is only the first in a trilogy I am contracted to write.

Click here to access my blog where I will post information about the book's availability as well as signing events.  Also, be sure to check out my novel's website (www.childfinder.us) for more detailed information about the story, my background, and publication schedules.
