About me: UnitedHollywood.com is an unofficial blog started by a group of strike captains. The contributors are both writers and non-writers. If you've got any questions or stories we should know about, email us at unitedhollywood [at] gmail [dot] com.
What do you want? If you've got three minutes and fifty seconds to spare, click the thumbnail to watch a little video. It's a really good explanation. I promise.
Okay, fine, but why are you on strike? Frankly, because the companies won't sit down and seriously negotiate with our union about new media. When it comes to our negotiations, new media is unknown and unprofitable. But this is what they've been telling the rest of the world:
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone who has in interest in fair labor negotiations, stopping corporate greed, or just wants to find out more about the ongoing WGA strike.
What can I do to help? Keep reading this and other blogs, stay informed, and make a decision as to whether or not you want to support the studios and networks. Pretty soon we'll be posting ideas for how people can make their voices heard to the companies. You can start by signing the petition.

THE FIGHT IS WON BUT THE BATTLE HAS JUST BEGUN...REMEMBER STILL FIGHT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN IN THREE YEARS. THANK ALL YOU GUYS AT UNITED HOLLYWOOD FOR NOT FORGETTING THE WRITERS!!!
That was inspiring, I am a self proclaim TV addict and the strike as been hard, I at times it has made me very ad for that people out of work and sometimes it has made me just plane angry and annoyed at both side. But then I understood something personally JERICHO does nothing for me but if TV was only staff that I like it would very dull cause I am only one person.
If someone appreciates the work of a writer no matter the numbers they should be compensated for it and rewarded. I miss pushing daises, gossip girl, chuck. the office, ugly betty and grey's and of course I want to see more lost and BSG and scrubs and bones but if I have to hold out so that the writers can get a fair deal and their life’s can be improve than I here and I’ll wait, I won’t settle for reality, I won’t download or buy DVDs I’ll just wait and when this end I’ll still be here to welcome my writer in that little box I like to call my TV.
