The mission of the United Way of Northwest Michigan is to gather and distribute resources, both financial and volunteers, to support the vital work of our area nonprofits.
Our Volunteer Center is a community clearinghouse for volunteerism. We pair-up people willing to donate their time and talents with almost 200 non-profit organizations in the five-county area.
Our annual campaign raises money that we use to provide grants to local non-profit organizations that serve those most in need in our community, including at-risk youth, families in crisis, the homeless, and low-income seniors.
Since 2000 we have distributed $3 million in grants to 35 different local organizations and recruited nearly 7,500 volunteers who have contributed an estimated 300,000 hours of service to our local communities.
What can one hour accomplish? How can one dollar help? Combined, it can do wonders for our communities!
