GO TO: www.unityajourneyhome.com and learn about us....
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone who would like to make a "Last Wish" come true.
We need your help!
You can help make wishes come true! Help with a Last Wish..
Have you ever lost a loved one from a terminal illness?
Was there one thing that they wished for more than ever?
You can help A Last Wish to be granted.
You can make a difference in the life of a person with a terminal illness.
Your first step....
Become friends on myspace with Unity, A Journey of Hope.
There have been many wishes granted to their residents in the past 3 years and now Unity has branched out all over the Tri-State area and even across the nation.
You can help in many ways... a monetary donation..... your time to volunteer.....some wishes could be stuff that you have stored in your house such as medical equipment... walkers, commode chairs, wheelchairs, motorized scooters & wheelchairs.
Some wishes are more involved but maybe you know someone who can help. Donation of a time-share condo that isn't being used for a patient who never saw the ocean....
Some of the wishes are just for necessities...
One wish was for a portable oxygen concentrator (makes it's own oxygen, no heavy tanks involved) to make the person able to go out into the world.... Unity continues to pick up the tab for this item since it is not covered by insurance.
One wish was for a new mattress to be comfortable in their last days... granted
A few wish receipients "just wanted to go home" and Unity was able to make transportation arrangements for them to do so.
Another wish receipient wanted to visit with family after not seeing them for 30 years!!!... wish granted by Unity.
Another wish reciepient had Stage 4 terminal cancer and wouldn't make it through to Christmas with her 2 young boys... Unity gave them A Christmas in May complete with gifts, Christmas decorations and Holiday food.
Unity granted a wish to a terminal resident to be reunited with family and friends at a family reunion after living across the country for 30 years.
One man's wish was to have a garden in his open lot, of tomatoes and peppers, and donate the harvest to Angel Food Ministries and the homeless... pretty selfless for a terminal man. Check out his video at this link:
How many ways do you think you can help? You can start by becoming Unity's friend on their myspace...then spreading the word
Make a difference in someone's life.... it may be someone you know... or a situation that is familiar to you and may hit close to home... and you may know someone else in your circle of friends who may be able to help..
