Since the early days the universal crew has selected their own mixtapes, mixing dancehall and roots music. They play all kind of styles dealing with Caribbean music, from roots to ragga, from lovers to their favourite style dancehall. Mystic is the number one MC in Universal, but other MC..s have passed through over the years. People such as Natasja(DK), Mandingo(DK), Cornstick(DK), Ldm(DK), Yardie Maroon(DK)...
During the last 8 years Universal Sound has toured most of Denmark and the world. Universal has played practically every club in Copenhagen, venues like Loppen, Vega, Rust, Pumpehuset, Grå hal, Stengade 30, Ungdomshuset, RAW, The Rock, Roskilde festival etc.
Universal Sound is not only to be found in Copenhagen. They have also played in citys like Berlin, Hamburg, Reykjavik, Stockholm, Belgrade, Århus and many other venues all over Denmark. They are also well known for throwing the legendary Splash bashments in Basement. SHINEHEAD ( New York / Jam)
Jamaïquain né en Angleterre, Shinehead a passé la quasi totalité de son enfance et adolescence entre la Jamaïque et New York.
Il débute sa carrière artistique en 1980 en faisant ses classes dans
les différents sounds systems new yorkais tels que Downbeat the Ruler
ou African love.
En 1984, il obtient un 1er hit en reprenant la chanson de Michael Jackson "Billy Jean" avec Steelie & Cleevie.
En 1988 , il est signé par le label Elektra records sur lequel il sort son 1er album Unity.
Début 90, son 2ème album "The real rock" intègre du hip hop au reggae
créant un style qui sera repris pas des artistes comme Shabba Ranks ou
Shaggy.
En 92, le célèbre single "Jamaïcan in New York" reprise de "Englishman in NY" de Sting connait un succés international.
Musicalement, Shinehead développe un style tout terrain, il peut toaster, rapper ou chanter sur n’importe quelle version.
Ses textes sont positifs et conscients, ses lives connus pour être parmi les plus dynamiques et chaleureux de la scène actuelle.
