About me:

I'm Uni, and I shoot dogs. Ok, I'm a photographer. I'm currently on the road back from lower lumbar spinal fusion surgery. My favorite subjects to photograph are dogs, insects, birds, gardens, flowers and anything else that catches my attention. My pictures range from the normal to the "hmmm, never thought of looking at it from that angle", I really enjoy doing macro/micro work (consider one as getting the picture of an insect, the other the insect's eyes). I love to shoot dog sporting events (i.e. agility, dock diving, frisbee/disc, etc.) and portraits most of all, but the truth is if it has anything to do with dogs, I'm there. I also like playing with photoshop, but I can barely scratch the surface with the tools it has. It doesn't keep me from trying. Few things do.

     

I am a survivor

I believe a sense of humor can overcome any pain or injustice, I believe if you don't have one you will die very early, if not physically, it will show on your eyes.

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are always better when someone else makes them for you. No crusts! And where's my milk?

My favorite color is purple...and green...and blue..and like a burnt orange/rust

Of all the animals I've ever had I miss Odin and Mr. Binks the most. And Riker. Pavarotti. Worf. Boomer. Sisco. Kira. Selene. Jean Luc. Ok, I miss them all.

I started playing poker when I was reallly young, like 7. I also learned how to play canasta and scrabble then.

When I was 11, I wanted to be a veterinarian. I sat down with a dictionary, and starting with the A's began to write the name of every animal. I think I managed to get to G before I gave up, overwhelmed.

My favorite photographer is Ansel Adams, his photograph of "The Oak" is on my wall in my livingroom.

I forget how old I am, a lot. My daughter or husband has to remind me. I said I was 38 for 2 years. I really don't care.

My father was an alcoholic, but a damned good gardener. He was in WWII and in the Korean War.

I was the youngest of 9 kids. 7 boys and 2 girls.

My mom loved to bake. Nobody baked biscuits like mom!

I love playing jacks.

It is very hard for me to trust anybody

People think that when you buy a new house you have nothing to worry about. WRONG!

I love my tattoos, I want more.

I miss Oklahoma a whole lot more than I thought I would.

I am interested in almost everything. It just depends on which one of me you're talking to. I have been diagnosed with several mental disorders. Ok...so what?

I don't like labels on people

I think with my mind; not the color of my skin or my heritage.

I was an EMT for short while.

I believe that most people want to do the right thing if they have the right incentives. When doing the wrong things are easier with no consequences, doing the right thing becomes harder and harder to do.

I once spent over 8 hours playing Galaga in a 7-11

Religion and money are the cause of all war, pain and suffering in the world.

It often seems when I mention something that I want, or want to do, others seem to get, or do it. This has made me more cautious as to who I say things to and what I say.

My favorite cake is vanilla with vanilla icing, or devil's food with vanilla icing.

Tile floors are much easier to take care of than carpets if you have animals.

We have 6 dogs and 3 cats. I want more animals. I always want more animals.

I don't drink near as much water as I should.

I know how to read tarot and once I'm feeling better I will read Terri's for her.

I have a difficult time when people whom I have respected turn out to not have been worthy of that respect.

I love silence. I love music. I get to hear little of either.

People who talk down about someone else then do the same thing (sometimes within minutes!) completely baffle me.

If Knowledge is Power, shouldn't we be raising the bar for education instead of lowering it?

I can't read when there's music or TV on.

I wish I could afford a new laptop

When I was 19 yrs old I had a 24" waist. I wore a size 10 jeans.

Recovering from spinal surgery is slow as hell and often times very boring, but the drugs can be good.

I love looking at the sky at night. When we moved here there weren't but a few lights. It seemed like you could see everything. Then my neighbor moved in and put a fucking streetlight in his backyard. Moron.

I really dislike when people attempt to push their religious views on me. Do you really think your God meant "spread by the word" by knocking on my doorstep? Perhaps he meant to spread his word by living a life which is Christlike? Doesn't that make more sense?

I believe in Karma. I also believe that "all you do comes back to you", the three fold laws, and the Golden Rule. Although from different religions, doesn't each say the same thing? The problem is that so few people live their lives that way.
