At the urging of my parents, I studied piano from age 7. Back then, they had no idea it would impact my life so strongly. I never became a piano virtuoso, but developed a strong desire to be a performer and musician.
In 1985, seeing Live Aid cemented those desires for me, seeing bands like U2, INXS and Simple Minds performing for huge audiences on TV. Live Aid wasn’t just a rock concert - it was for a very important cause - and this experience helped shape my appreciation of music’s power to change people.
Piano was not so cool in High School. That’s when I took up drums, discovering my natural rhythmic talents. From then, music was all I could think of. It became the only subject at school that I took an interest in.
Several bands and albums followed through many styles - metal (Kohllapse), dark electronica (cradle->grave) and world music; and after a soul-searching trip around the United States, I returned home to help form a world music group called ‘Rivertribe’. With Rivertribe, I recorded 3 albums and enjoyed several successful overseas trips.
I was a founding member of the hugely successful group OKA (www.okamusic.com). Having recorded and performed all over the world with the OKA boys, and selling tens of thousands of albums, it has become time to carve a musical path of my own.
yo matt what the crack have you been up to these days? i like totally havnt hurd from you in years.... well im just in the middle of year 12 which is seriously pucked up, i can hardly understand why one would want to put ones self through it... i question my self every day what im doing here and how i manage to heave my body out of my bedwa and into the stressful ticking timebomb(class room)every day.. ..hahahah but im so close to the end (138days) away i cant just give up now. alas freedom is in reach and every inch of the world will soon be at my feet. oh and i also have a new lil bro in da family well my dads side of the family at least... hes pretty cute and cuddly but i dare say i wouldnt want to have one of my own anytime soon..the crying/early mornings hahah its good though i like just going and seeing him as a please. anyway tell me a lil about your hectic life...oh and are you hitting up the dreaming?

well ive been back at school(year 12)for a week now and you could say its a little stressful but im just taking it as it comes, i mean its my last year of school so i think it should have a little more fun then stress in it.. so im still gonna party and shit. im differently not gonna be one of those little hurmats that lives under a rock and only come out when its there birthday. hope your all good.... much love turi
