We will be continuing to organise these benefit gigs over the summer and later in the year, to coincide with the massive demonstrations being planned for the labour party conference in september in Manchester. A lot of the money raised will go towards supporting the travel costs for any local people who want to participate in this national anti-war demonstration.
Keep checking out this myspace site to hear live recordings from the gig, which will be playing very soon. News about upcoming gigs will be posted here too.
We will be hosting a public stop the war meeting on the 15th June at Aberdeen University. Its open to all. We will be showing a movie called the Road to Guantanamo. We'll put the exact location up here in the next couple of days.
Some of Aberdeen's finest alt-country, folk and indie bands played unplugged on the 2nd June at the Kilau Coffee Shop, just off Belmont Street.

The Kilau benefit was in aid of the Stop the War Coalition , a national and independent UK organisation devoted to stopping the war in Iraq and to preventing further aggression against Iran. The £300 raised will allow the local Aberdeen Stop the War group to continue organising public meetings and to subsidise transport to national Scottish / UK anti-war demonstrations.
