Sometime in July 2005, Unsect began as a studio project for vocalist Cope Till (S.H.C.*), and guitarist Chris Collins, to work on songs outside other projects. Till recently relocated from Los Angeles, and Collins was visiting from Virginia Beach when the two first met.
A few months later Eva "Renne" Roberts was recording an album of her own in the same studio, where they experimented with sounds that helped shape the mood and architecture of the band. Till introduced Roberts to Collins, and they immediately clicked. The trio began auditioning drummers once they realized that computers suck, and there's only so much you can do with a cellphone and a microwave.
And let's be honest...none of them had anything better to do.
Their search ended when drummer Glenn Grant (Ed Kemper Trio) was brought on board in 2006, in exchange for popsicles and "candy glow".
