WHAT THE PRESS / INDUSTRY TYPES SAY ABOUT UNSIGNED MAGAZINE (+ our covermount CD too!) :
"With just it's first issue, Unsigned Zine looks set to give Rock Sound a run for it's money with a free CD showcasing 15 tracks from unsigned new blood and a commitment to promoting hot new talent!" 8/10 ROCK SOUND
"An A4 issue with a colour cover and a 15 track CD featuring UK bands certainly is an impressive way to launch a new 'zine. Claiming to be "the A-Z of the bands next door", this magazine has grand aims and is clearly put together with love and dedication. This 'zine covers a wide rang of general rock and refreshingly keeps it underground, featuring bands such as Razorwire, Long Time Dead and The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster. It is quite orginal in it's approach. The Stoke rock scene now has a voice. Are you listening?"
3/5 BIG CHEESE
"This is a good quality magazine with a load of reviews and interesting articles. A masterstroke is the 15 track CD that comes with the mag featuring local bands making noise like it's about to go out of fashion." COOL NOISE
More press quotes on the website under "Press". Seen Unsigned mentioned somewhere? Let us know please so we can say our thanks!
Music
We compile a covermount CD with each issue to allow readers even easier access to brand new music and often do tie-ins with what's going on in the mag with what bands are on the CD, so our readers can listen and read about you at the same time. Pretty good huh? Any bands interested should email bands@unsignedmag.net for further info and details of costs etc. Please note we will approve all the bands FIRST, so no matter how much money you have, we're not letting you on if you're shit or don't fit in with the genres we cover in the mag. Also please realise that our CD is a proper glass mastered CD and not a crappy CDR that's going to stop working after five minutes.
All ALTERNATIVE genres we'll check out, get a copy of the mag for what kinda stuff we cover. We will review stuff on CD & Vinyl.
WE DO NOT REVIEW MP3s OR ONLINE MUSIC. YES THIS INCLUDES NOT REVIEWING MYSPACE SITES!!!
One final note: if you receive a review we will be in touch and let you know what issue it's been printed in. Don't hassle us and please don't insult us by asking us to email you the review. We don't like bands who won't support the people who help to support them.
GIGS & FESTIVALS
We love to review live music, email us full details of your gig / festival to gigs@unsignedmag.net
Movies
We like films about bands, films about monsters, films about gangsters, films that are cool and cult, films that are independantly produced, films that are arty, films that rock. We even do a DVD / film review section so if any of the above applies to your film making abilities, send us a copy and we'll be happy to watch it. We can accept stuff on VHS / DVD viewing formats as long as we can play it on our UK players. Sending toffee popcorn is optional but always much appreciated too.
Books
We love books & magazines, long live printed media goodness! Always up for reviewing books that fit in with the kind of stuff we cover and we are always up for reviewing / trading zines across the world so get in touch. If you're open-minded like us, we are interested in music, art, personal zines and everything else!
Heroes
Anyone who's made, contributed, photographed, wrote, drawn etc something for a zine anywhere. You people rule!

UNSIGNED magazine is an A4 size, professionally PRINTED (full colour covers, b&w inside) quarterly zine based in the Midlands and distributed everywhere we can get into. We pretty much cover a wide range of music genres under the big old "alternative" spectrum from Indie to Metal and as the name suggests we mainly focus on unsigned bands (but also sneakily include interviews and reviews with bands on small independent labels as well as predominantly DIY labels). Music, rants, raves, random amusing interviews, industry advice and tips for bands, features, stories and random shenanigans, the list goes on as what you can expect to read about in UNSIGNED! What we're doing is bringing a new zine to the underground and mainstream music fans by offering a much needed honest alternative piece of reading material which we hope you'll find interesting and continue to support. Each issue is accompanied by free covermount CD showcasing the best new music out there and we are regularly involved in putting on gigs and festivals to help bands reach new audiences around the UK. So check out a copy today and we'll love you forever! :)
Think our readers should know how cool your company / label / band / etc is? Book yourselves an advert with us and take advantage of a few extras to say thanks for your support! Email: advertising@unsignedmag.net for more details and our current price list.
