Everything from old Thrash (Testament, Slayer, Megadeth) to early 90's Death Metal (Grave, Pestilence, At The Gates, Death) to more recent metal (Nevermore, Iced Earth, Arch Enemy)
UNSOLEMN was kreated in the autumn of 2003 by four Chicago-area thrashers looking to incorporate the sounds of the bands that had influenced them "growing up" with their own newer ideas to form a fierce Metal machine. The band was comprised of Allen Mate (ex-Ember) on guitars, Tim Frickenstein (The Everscathed/Enmortem) on drums, W. Frickenstein (The Everscathed/Enmortem) on vocals and original bass player Joe Townsend. In the spring/summer of 2004, the group released their first demo, "The Turmoil Begins", which has since been widely distributed throughout the Metal underground. The band released a second demo in 2005 entitled "What Never Was". Not long after, the band parted ways with Townsend. The band spent 2006 and early 2007 writing and working on new songs as a three-piece while trying to secure a new full-time bassist. Jeff Mate (Allen's brother) and Dave Swanson (Veneficum/Grey Matter/ex-Enforsaken) briefly filled the vacant spot until JC (Conglomeratorz/ex-Eternal Hatred) stepped in to tear it up on the bass. Now with a solid line-up, UNSOLEMN is ready once again to destroy!!! The band plans to record their debut full-length album in the very near future with many shows in support of it's release to follow. UNSOLEMN is always eager to play wherever, whenever, and to whoever raises their fist to Metal.
