August 2006:
It all started at a party in a little town around Montreal. Two guys, Wasted Ben and Raoul FFF, noticed about each other band shirt. They talked for a while about music in general and their own personal experiences in local bands, so they decided to go in Raoul's car to listen to some popular bands. They quickly realized that they shared interest for the same music so Ben asked Raoul if he wanted to start a new project. The really next weekend Raoul went to Ben’s house for a jam session and they really felt it could turn into something good if they keep practicing. A really close friend of Ben, Jim who had a nice melodic vocal, was interested to sing for the band. They wrote two songs together and were obviously looking for a bass player. They tried different one but no one matched so Raoul had the idea to call his friend Sam who played bass in previous bands with him. That was it! Several jams passed and it just kept getting better. End of 2006 UNTOLD was born!
Debut of 2007:
UNTOLD started to get some gigs with the help of High school friends and the introduction of Big (Jean-François tremblay) @ BlackBox. The band proposed to the local scene a sort of Screamo who had influences from bands like: Thrice, From Autumn to Ashes and Poison The Well. After a couple of shows and with time, the musical interests were changing within the band. Raoul, Ben and Sam were getting more and more attracted by hardcore music. A short reunion was requested, the band decided to rewrite their songs so they would sound louder. Although they were happier about their new sound an important decision was to be made: replacing Jim's clean vocals with screams. Jim felt uncomfortable in this role and was forced to leave the band. Big, who knew it could only help the band, quickly recommended Kev to scream for them. Kev who had some good references in the local scene, was immediately called. The next week, the band met in Ben’s basement as always but this time with Kev holding the mic. It was a matter of seconds and one scream for Kev to join UNTOLD. After 2 months of existence, the new UNTOLD was ready to produce themselves live with their new material. They played their first show on March 9th 2007 at Orbite Skate Park in St-jean-sur-Richelieu. The result was excellent the decisions they made were successful but something was still missing in this band; a louder sound that only a second guitarist could provide. Gab, former guitarist in well-known bands such as GBG and Execute the Sinner joined the band a couple of weeks later.
The band was finally complete.
2008:
After almost a year of shows all around Quebec, they made some really good friends within bands and important persons who helped them around. Names go in no particular order because they all mean the world to the band. Productions Anonymes, Groupe Orange, BlackBox Studio, Narcotic Acid Carnage, The Other Self, A Scream From The Sky and so many other bands they've played with such as Burning Sky (R.I.P.), all contributed to make what UNTOLD is today and make them want to keep going forever. Fall 2007, the band went in studio to record their first EP as a Hardcore band. They released a Split EP with their brothers Narcotic Acid Carnage in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu on March 15th 2008.
