Up-&-Rising began in 2007; an event aimed at showcasing local acts from South Wales. As well as raising the profile of local bands in South Wales, The events also have the charitable feel about them - all events raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust and Radio Glamorgan.
On Sunday 17th June 2007, the event showcased 6 acts headlined by Miss Conduct at the Point, Cardiff Bay.
On Sunday 27th April 2008, the event showcased 6 acts headlined by Along Came Man at the Point, Cardiff Bay.
Later in 2008 on Friday 5th September 2008, an offspring event from Up-&-Rising took place called "Mini Rising" which showcased 3 bands headlined by Groove Joint Movement at Barfly, Cardiff City Centre.
