Uplift can be best described in three words: positive, ambitious and hardworking. The band recently made a confident decision to change their band name from the previous “The Fitzpatrick Incident” to better represent their positive and upbeat message as well as hoping to re-define themselves in the eyes of their fans and community. Still not slowing down from their relentless work ethic and touring schedule that “The Fitzpatrick Incident” was well known for it is readily apparent that each and every single member of Uplift shares the same drive and ambition to change things for the positive in Ontario and the world around them. Combining the camaraderie of bands Sick Of It All and Stretch Armstrong, the melodic sounds of influential bands such as Champion, Bane and Ignite, with the ferocity and hard-hitting aspects of Hatebreed and American Nightmare this six piece band from Ontario is not only out to change minds and turn heads, but also get people thinking about the world around them. Both Uplift lyricists James and Jordy aim to put a positive spin on subjects through their lyrics, from writing about the current state of the hardcore scene, to politically charged lyrics of hard economic times , to personal and familiar battles with depression and staying positive as a role model. Music and Message come together and explode every time Uplift hits the stage in a super energetic and positive live show. Since their first tour in 2007, there has been a consistent touring schedule as this ambitious band from Ontario aims to enlighten and capture audiences everywhere. With a name that can do justice to their hard work, positive attitudes and unique brand of melodic-hardcore, Uplift will be a household name in hardcore very soon.
