Almost a year into being a band, Upon The Awakening is on a fierce mission to spread their sound and connect with all of the other amazing bands that are all across the country.
Where did the name come from ? Its quite simple, there are many times in our lives where our eyes are opened to things we had never seen before.
For us we are "awakening" to the world around us and everything that comes with it. While at the same time using forcefull and positive lyrics to "awaken" the listener. Of course beyond all that its just 4 guys that love metal and love to perform as a group.
Its quite obvious that ego's overcome the power that the music has over us, its so important to forget about all of the distractions and negative energies and just focus on what we like when writing music.. There are thousands of metal bands currently making music all over the world, the only way to stand out is to be unique and always believe in what you do.
We proudly raise our flag and fanboard to honor the fans that help spread our music as far as possible. We believe that there are many decent people who see the world as we do. This is our language that only our "family" understand. we invite you to have a listen and see what you think, be sure to check our show dates and come out and show us what you got!!!

Announcement of bands and dates will be May 15th, 2009 If your band is chosen to play one of the 18 slots a $75 entry fee is due May 29th, 2009 1 winner from each night will advance on to Friday June 26th.
Those 6 bands will battle it out for the top 3 positions.
Saturday June 27th first, second and third place will be determined.
