Uprising Radio was founded in July 2003. Uprising emphasizes connecting global issues with local ones. Simply informing listeners of the problems in the world and our communities is not enough - we hope to motivate our listeners to take an active role in their communities.
Uprising is a daily radio program, produced at KPFK, Pacifica Radio in Los Angeles. It airs weekdays from 8-9 am PST at 90.7 fm LA, and 98.7 fm Santa Barbara. A weekly syndicated version of Uprising is available free to all stations.

The Long Beach Immigrant Rights Coalition will be holding our first meeting of the year on Tuesday January 8, 2008 at 7.pm. At the meeting we will discuss the March 1st Immigrant Rights Community Forum event.
The meeting will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church (525 E 7th St Long Beach, CA 90813. Corner of 7th and Atlantic Blvd.). Refreshments and snacks will be served at 6:30 p.m. All organizations and individuals are welcomed.
The Long Beach Immigrant Rights Coalition meets the first Tuesday and third Monday of every month at 7 p.m. January meeting days and times are scheduled for Tuesday January 8, 2008 and Monday January 21, 2008.

We are accepting submittals for the blog, and there is a "blog submittal" forum online.
We have a "activist group" section up, so if want a seperate area on the forums for your group, just say the word.
We also have a "music submittal" section up, so if you are in a band, you can post a link to your music in there.
We also have a "celebrity" section, so if you are famous, you can post in there!
