Up:Start Music is the new label from d*Funk aka Doug Masters. Born out of the frustration of the state of the current break-beat scene & the music industry in general with no one will to take a risk on new artists. Up:Start music will focus on break-beat lead music, ranging from down-tempo funk break-beat to tear out breaks with also some electro & jackin' beats thrown in as well, mainly in the forms of remixes.
Currently the main artist is d*FUNK who has previously released music on critically acclaimed & uber-cool Westway records & forward thinking electronic music label Nitrous records.
Up:Start Music plans to release 1 original artists EP every 6 weeks or so with the label's debut release, d*FUNK's original 3 track EP, 'Bust This' / 'Drop Out' / 'Sonic Boom' being released in Feb '09.
To begin with Up:Start Music will be a download only label, distributed intensively across a broad number of music download web sites both in Europe & USA. But plans are to move the label on as quickly as possible & explore different mediums of release, be it traditional vinyl or other, newer mediums.
Up:Start Music 006.(Release date - 30th Oct '09.)
Downtime - 'Little Bit Closer' with mixes from D-Funk & Crackerz & Jam.

Bust This
Upstart Music
Jump-start the party
If this is anything to go by, Bournemouth’s Doug Masters aka D*Funk may be one to watch this year. Having kick-started the new label ‘Upstart’ with the brilliant MC Manic on mic and its infectious wonky hooks, the feel good vibes of this party piece defiantly require some plays from the back of a carnival float this summer.

D*Funk - Bust This (Up:Start Music).
Here's another new label, emanating from D*Funk and the excellent Break Da House night in Bournemouth. There's a tasty gnawing tinpanny sound to the topline on 'Bust This', which gives it a Paul Woolford feel, and MC Manic from the Freefall Collective busts out some nice rhymes in a rub-a-dub stylee. 'Drop Out' boasts tougher breaks and a warping bassline that underpins garagey beats in the midsection. The "Turn on, tune in, drop out" sample adds extra trippiness, while 'Sonic Boom' is a bit techier - plumpy sideswipes and perhaps the sound of Meat Katie grunting power it to a close.

D*Funk - Drive Ya Speaker/Serious Shit (Up:Start Music) Doug Masters from Bournemouth continues to show why he's one to watch. The Breakspoll Breakthrough DJ nominee comes for the second month on the trot with more quality tuneage on the new Up:Start Music stamp. 'Drive Ya Speaker' boasts a dynamite bassline wobble that's pretty dubstep in concept, flanked by pots and pans percussion. 'Serious Shit', meanwhile, is more driving and features a "serious shit" sample used judiciously before guitar reverb and a techy bass hook carry it forward incessantly.

Robots are Dj Lee Nazari and Producer Gareth Salmon, based on the south
coast of England. Formed at the end of 2008 their intentions are clear:
Rock the dancefloor! The Rogue Robots sound could be described as a mix
of Electro and House with a filthy mix of avalanche inducing basslines,
stomping beats and arsehole tearing riffs. Spurned on by the fact that
its now cheaper to make your own tunes rather than buy them, what with
the Credit Crunch and all... Rogue Robots have set about making a host
of tunes for your dancefloor pleasure
