Here are some basic facts about the weekend:
UPTIGHT started on May 8th in 1999 as a Soul Allnighter in Frankfurt am Main/Germany and developed into a fully-fledged 3-day weekender over the years. Currently it's run by soul lovers and founding members MR. GROOVE & ATZE KNAUF plus WELLER.
The weekender starts on a Friday night with a RARE SOUL NIGHT where guests and friends from all over Europe meet and have a couple of drinks while slowly dancing into the weekend.
The main event on Saturday, the UPTIGHT soul allnighter, used to be at the well known club ROBERT JOHNSON. It’s setting next to the River Main, with terraces overlooking the river is superb. It has two separate rooms for northern and modern soul, each with a wooden dancefloor and one of the best sound systems around. For March 2009 we will return to our previous venue, the o25 with DJ action in 3 rooms!
The final night is entitled SUNDAE features a wide range of 7ties and up to date soul sounds for all marathon soul fans. It's Atze's, Mr. Groove's and Weller's time to say goodbye to 10 years of UPTIGHT delight!

Deutschlands beste, wildeste und authentischste Neo-60's-Garage-Rock'n'Roll-Band beehrt uns wieder! Stets tadellos im stilechten Zwirn der 60er Jahre gekleidet, präsentieren die Herren in der klassischen Besetzung der damaligen Zeit (inklusive Orgel) tanzbaren 60's-Garage-Punk und Freak-Beat, verfeinert zusätzlich mit "A Shot of Rhythm'n'Blues" und etwas Psychedelic - und mit einem Schlag fühlt man sich in einen Beat-Keller des Jahres 1966 zurückversetzt!
Als Support THE MAJESTIC FELLOWS: Die Formation nimmt uns mithilfe "aufpolierter Klassiker" und Coverversionen von Garage-Rock'n'Roll-Songs mit auf eine Zeitreise in die wilden 1960er Jahre!
After-Show-Party: Nach dem Konzert gibt's dann noch tanzbare Mucke von 60's-Beat über Garage-Rock'n'Roll bis hin zu Soul vom Plattenteller!

Das britische Trio THE MASONICS besteht mit Mickey Hampshire, Bruce Brand und John Gibbs aus drei legendären Typen, die bereits in Kult-Bands wie THEE MILKSHAKES, THEE HEADCOATS und THE KAISERS gespielt haben bzw. immer noch aktiv sind bei HIPBONE SLIM und in der Backing-Band von HOLLY GOLIGHTLY! Dementsprechend gibt es wilden, rauen und flotten Garage-Rock'n'Roll, "Medway"-Beat, 60's-Rhythm'n'Blues und Mod-Punk englischer Prägung, wie man's von ihrem Weggefährten WILD BILLY CHILDISH gewohnt ist! Als Gastsängerin mit dabei ist LUDELLA BLACK - die Dame, die bereits bei THE DEL-MONAS sowie zusammen mit HOLLY GOLIGHTLY in der All-Girl-Garage-Combo THEE HEADCOATEES musiziert hat und auch etwas an diese erinnert, bringt noch Facetten von Northern Soul sowie französischem Chanson in den Garage-Rock-Sound mit ein!
Als Support die LOS FRANCO NEROS: Die Band aus Tübingen bietet wilden und tanzbaren 60's-Garage-Rock'n'Roll, Beat und Surf und hat mittlerweile eine Sängerin am Start!
Nach dem Konzert bringen die beiden Stuttgarter "Sixties-Spezialisten" STOMPIN' JOHNSON und KEV CASINO tanzbare Beat- und Soul-Mucke auf die Plattenteller.

"Swinging Paris" steht Kopf, denn etwas derart "chices" wie bei der Amazing French Beat- & Burlesque-Connection gab's noch nie: Frankophile Beat-Mucke trifft auf eine flotte Burlesque-Show!
Die LES TERRIBLES sind ein französisches "Orchestre" mit charmanter "Chanteuse" und präsentieren total stilvollen und extrem tanzbaren Mod-Beat und Garage-Rock'n'Roll á la Francaise, wie er in den 1960er Jahren von JACQUES DUTRONC oder RONNIE BIRD gespielt wurde - man stelle sich vor, die ROLLING STONES wären 1965 in Paris gegründet worden, hätten auf französisch gesungen und MICK JAGGER wäre eine liebliche französische "Mademoiselle" gewesen!
Zusätzlich gibt's noch eine stilvolle Burlesque-Show der feschen französischen Mademoiselle MIMI DE MONTMARTRE, deren hochgradig anregenden und erotischen Tanzkünste für große Begeisterung sorgen, sowie eine After-Show-Party mit den Discjockeys TRAXMAN (Soundflat Records, Köln), FRANK GASOLINE und JENS-O-MATIC!
