Three homies and a band whore. This would be the best way to sum up Uptown as a band. The band started back in May of 2005 when Rob Copeland, Rowdy Davis, and Joel Pohorence started writing and playing music as a three piece. Writing was easy as a three piece, but the live show was lacking something, so they added a new member on bass and Rowdy moved to 2nd guitar and synth. Their then bass player left to pursue other music endeavors. That is when local band whore/promoter Chris Badger got wind that the band was looking for a new bass player. Chris had played in numerous local bands from Uptown’s area, but had never found a band he really clicked with. So, he decided to fill in for the time being which ended up working out really well. In the fall of 2007 Chris became a full time member of Uptown. The new line up began writing music almost immediately. With a new line up and a new sound the band was on it's way to exactly where they wanted to be. Set for a new release in spring of 2008 under local record label SetX Records, the band has already started pre-production for their yet to be named E.P. 2008 is sure to be an amazing year for the boys.
