About me:

.. ..
I've worked professionally as a "theatre generalist", to wit: {actor/director/playwright/teacher/etc.} since 1980. I also read like a fiend [very eclectic interests]. Favorite acting roles over the years have included Merrick in THE ELEPHANT MAN; Che in EVITA; Rich in AS IS; Dodge in BURIED CHILD; the title role in DRACULA {multiple productions}, Pirelli and Judge Turpin in multiple productions of SWEENEY TODD, THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET; Erik in THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA {non-musical, original script}; and Sister Mary Amnesia in [the all-male-cast version] NUNSENSE, AMEN!. Favorite directing credits have included A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE; THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL; THE NORMAL HEART; DADDY'S DYIN', WHO'S GOT THE WILL?; and EXTREMITIES. I live in Hixson TN -- basically Chattanooga. My apartment is a one-room wonder euphemistically known in larger cities as a "studio", but it suits me. All my books almost fit, and the clutter is all in one place! I share this baronial splendor with an 8-year-old chunky calico cat named Scully [yes, she is named for Gillian Anderson's character on THE X-FILES. The red markings around her pale face and large eyes look a lot like Dana Scully's hairdo.] and Elijah, about two now -- a young tomcat with a lot of Hemingway genes [polydactyly on front paws, extra-long tail, etc.] who's black and white. They're learning to get along; so far no fights -- but Scully's an older woman stuck dealing with a 13-year old boy, and she's not willing to let him get away with much! I write fiction in my spare time [currently making some promising forward motion in my horror novel PLACE OF SECRETS], play at screenwriting, broke down and wrote a script for stage not too long ago, and also not infrequently create liturgical pieces and educational materials for Christian education. And I am very excited to be involved in filmmaking with my good friend Jack Watts.
