Influences
Uranium Daughters is pleased to announce the release of "Helium (The Ballad Of Lawn Chair Larry)" on Volume 10 of Series Two Records enormous indie CD compilation project.
It is the beginning of a new year and time for the first real update of this information in well, years, time for Uranium Daughters to step free of the crutch of my musical past. When I started this page it was mostly a posting of material recorded by my old bands, Twig, Fertile Virgin, and others whose names are longer than their histories. Now those songs can be heard elsewhere and I post them less and less. So bear with me kind listener as this has pretty much become a showcase of home recording indulgence with not a drummer in sight. Most of the photographs are vintage like the bands (Fertile Virgin photo shoots were the best fun!) and when possible I will try and update them, but I don't have much compulsion to go around taking pictures and videos of myself or anything else for that matter. What I do have a compulsion to do is write and record these little songs. So there you go and here we are.
Please support our Indie Pop "EP CLUB" presented by Series Two Records and Eggnog Records. It is a collaboration between an Indie Pop label in Nebraska and one in New Zealand. The indie pop EP CLUB's include artists from around the world.
Thanks for the kind words and for coming out to TT's! I'm assuming you know this already, but we do have a version of Village of the Giants somewhere in our deep-down-way-back-set-lists! We'll have to dust it off for our next show.
Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
