Before the Conference
You are welcome to come early to visit Boulder and you can arrange to stay in the university dorms one night before the conference for an additional $35. The Boulder area has several attractions, such as Rocky Mountain National Park, near the town of Estes Park, which is about 45 minutes by car. Conference sign-in starts at noon on Thursday, and dinner is at 5pm.
Transportation
If you are flying into Denver International Airport, the “SkyRide” RTD bus Route AB runs direct from the airport to Boulder every hour (about 40 miles) and stops on Broadway at CU (16th/Euclid Stop) for $12 (rtd-denver.com). This is an express regional bus – very clean, safe, and comfortable. The Euclid stop is just a few feet from the University Memorial Center where most of the conference will take place, and a 5-minute walk to the dorms (Sewall Hall). There is also a door-to-door “SuperShuttle” van service for $31 ($10 each additional person) that can be pre-arranged (supershuttle.com). If you need additional help with travel arrangements, let us know.
Room Amenities and Roommates
At CU Boulder, each room in the dorm holds two people (unless you opt for a single for an additional $90). If you have a roommate preference, please write it on your application. Unmatched roommates will be put together by gender. The limited number of single rooms will be assigned to earliest requests first.
Children
There will be an all-age kid's program. Inquire for details. Registration for children under 12 is the cost of an adult registration minus $60. The cost of children under 12 who will be attending the full conference and do not require their own bed is a mere $80 or free if their own food will be provided. The single day cost is $25.
After the Conference
The conference program will end Sunday afternoon with a picnic and light hiking in Chautauqua Park, which is at the base of the Boulder Flatirons on the edge of Boulder and close to campus. You are welcome to arrange an extra night stay in the dorms for an additional $35. After the conference, a group of readers will be doing a camping and outreach trip to the national annual Rainbow gathering in beautiful Northern New Mexico. We planned the Boulder conference before the gathering in order to do so. (myspace.com/urantiacamp)
Cost: $300. Registration cost includes program, room, and meals. The single day cost without room is $50 or $25 without food. There will be a very limited number of scholarships and discounted registrations available for first-time conference attendees, students, and youth on an earliest-first basis.
We needed to have the numbers for dorm rooms and food into the facility by June 11th, so if you want to register you should send an email to inquire about late registration. Registration can be done securely online or by downloading and completing our registration form. Questions about scholarships, discounts, donations, and/or registration should be directed to cwesquire@hotmail.com.
The Second Mile and Beyond
Urantia Conference—Boulder 2009
You are warmly welcomed to the beautiful and progressive city of Boulder, a community which may well have the highest per-capita concentration of Urantia Book readers in the world. The picturesque university campus, nestled beneath the breathtaking Rockies, will provide an ideal setting for this conclave of friendly souls from far and wide.
Although the plan for this conference was sparked by a few younger-generation readers, there are readers of all ages contributing their time, talents, and experiential wisdom to the program and the planning. As it happens, this conference isn't officially sponsored by any organization, but it benefits from broad support and reflects the increasing spiritual unity in the readership.
People of all ages, walks of life, and familiarity with the book are encouraged to attend! If you are a new reader or have never been to a conference--please come--you will be glad you did! A new explorer of the truth in the Urantia Book will find the program very appealing and 'newcomer-friendly'. The registration price of $300 covers room, board & program and is meant to be as affordable as possible in this first-class facility.
The spirit of The Second Mile and Beyond is the call to the challenge of truly living second-mile lives every single day--beyond what we ever have before...
In winning souls for the Master, it is not the first mile of compulsion, duty, or convention that will transform man and his world, but rather the second mile of free service and liberty-loving devotion that betokens the Jesusonian reaching forth to grasp his brother in love and sweep him on under spiritual guidance toward the higher and divine goal of mortal existence.
~The Urantia Book (Paper 195, Section 10, Page 2084)
How do we take our own lives to the next level? In a world that is "quivering on the very brink" of "one of our most amazing and enthralling epochs", how can can we truly go the second mile with this emergency revelation--both individually and as a community?
How can we increasingly infuse each and every moment in the daily grind of material facts with the spiritual energy of ideals--and truly achieve the rhythm and stride of striking step with God?
Don't miss this inspiring opportunity to share in the quest to transform our lives and grow in our ability to love with "a new and startling affection" and serve with "a new and amazing devotion"!
You have a warm welcome, a beautiful place, and good company waiting for you in Boulder!
And, as icing on the cake, you might even find a life-changing and spiritually inspiring experience that hints at our life to come in the "many mansions of our Father's house..."
Please donate to the scholarship fund! Any help would be deeply appreciated. You can add a lot or a little to your registration or you can waive the early registration discounts to contribute to the fund.
Please join us in camping and outreach! Right after the conference, a group of us will carpool South to the national annual Rainbow gathering outside of Taos, New Mexico and camp from June 30 through July 4. Groups of around 8-15 people who have met through the Urantia Book have established Urantia camps at a handful of national Rainbow gatherings in the past. We hope that this camp will be larger and that we can plan for some great service projects etc. They have many things going for them, such as: they are always in amazing natural settings, they cost nothing, they are full of loving people and many spiritual seekers... and doing a Urantia camp project with a group of other Urantia Book readers is a great chance to both have a great adventure bonding and discussing the book etc with them, but to also simultaneously contribute to a quiet 'outreach' project by being of service at the gathering and being there for truth seekers. Groups of Urantia Book readers did camps in 2001 (Idaho), 2003 (Utah) and 2006 (Colorado). We always saw much benefit from the little that we did - just putting up a sign with three concentric circles drew truth seekers to our camp. This year we plan to do a larger and more established camp where we also can provide a service like refreshments (coffee/tea/etc) and a good venue for study groups and people to stop and discuss with us by the fire. Gatherings are full of groups of people doing service projects - mostly large makeshift 'kitchens' in the forest where copious amounts of food are prepared and given away (paid for by donations - it is illegal to buy and sell in National Forests and also against the rainbow tradition). The gatherings take place at a new location each year and somewhere around 7-15 thousand usually participate. They began many decades ago and always culminate with silence as a prayer for peace between sunrise and noonish on the fourth of July when an enormous circle is formed in the main meadow and the children from 'kid village' parade into the circle, singing songs of peace and breaking the silence. How would you like to design a T-shirt for the conference in Boulder this summer? T-shirts are usually a money losing deal, and since we try to keep things cheap at our conferences, we didn't do any last year. This year however, we're going to list our T-shirts online and have people advance order them. Because of this we can have multiple designs. So if you have a favorite quote or some artwork you'd like to see on a conference T-shirt, or if you can help us get cheap t-shirts, please let us know. All moneys gained from the T-shirts go to conference scholarships. We've got some designs, and now we're trying to get the cheapest shirts we can.

I may pass through Boulder for the Kerouac Festival to visit a few remnant Beats, however, I'm unable to attend the Urantia conference this year. Business being that I'm 'wedding groom' prior to a music festival at lake Muskoka, Canada, early this September.
Welcome to My Circle of International Friends and Musicians.Knowledge of the Urantia has opened up New Horizons.Looking forward to attending the Conference.
Man, why can't you make it somewhere I can attend??? J/K... bummer... it isn't even an option for me this year due to the altitude... oh well, you guys have fun!!! :)

Hi everyone, I pray you are all well. Just dropping by to show some love and to say I'm working on being at this conference too. I just finished a new song you might like.
DESTINATION PARADISE
It’s a Revelation for the Now Generation
Destination Destiny Yeah My Destination
Inquisitive as I am I have always had so many questions Even as a little youth I’d be digging up the roots to find a little grain of truth In my frustration I would search The synagogue, the mosque even the temple and the church And even though some truth could be found in every one So could the overwhelming Ego of a man
Destination Destiny Yeah My Destination is Paradise, Paradise, Paradise, Paradise
Persistent as I am I never stop searching till I find a resolution But no matter how I tried The Books of yesteryear could never give me a solution Then one bright day in my dismay I went down on my knees & pray Father Please show me a sign for peace of mind And so that through you I can find my

Now truly grateful yes I am And I thank you Jah for everything you’ve done I thank you for the miracles you’ve shown me For the Mother Spirit & Christ Michael your S.O.N. being on the spiritual path being on the spiritual path is having the hunger that makes us seek and ask..and the spiritual is the beautiful and whatever makes us dance and laugh..the spiritual path is like a river and how water wears away the stone..of the islands we are stranded on all alone..and like a child running and playing in the rain..a sunflower on a cloudy day waiting for the sun to shine again..the growing pains and is our souls giving birth..to a new heaven and a more perfect earth.
