Puerto Rico-born and Bronx-based performapoet Urayoán Noel has been delighting and confounding the enlightened masses since the late 1990s.
Solo and as part of the rock band objet petit a, he has performed-sung-scatted throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico, as well as in the Dominican Republic and Perú. His laughtracked new wave guarachas have rocked the rafters and/or emptied the room at the Nuyorican Poets Café, Bowery Poetry Club, Bar 13, Cornelia Street Café, Instituto Cervantes, and Roka Espacio. His "Kool Logic" tour has brought him to colleges, universities and conferences nationwide, and he headlined the 2006 Arizona International Latina/o Arts Festival. He has also been featured on WBAI-FM, and in the Puerto Rican TV shows "Cultura viva" and "En la punta de la lengua."
Working at the intersection of page and stage, he has released two books of poetry, LAS FLORES DEL MALL (2000) and KOOL LOGIC/LA LOGICA KOOL (2005), as well as the rock-poetry performance dvd KOOL LOGIC SESSIONS: Poems, Pop Songs, Laugh Tracts (Bilingual, 2005), a collaboration with composer Monxo López. A book of poems in Spanish with rock/spoken word cd, entitled BORINGKEN, is forthcoming.
On the Kool Logic Sessions dvd he is backed by Monxo López (guitars, programming) and Libertad O. Guerra (keyboards, synthesizers), with whom he also co-directs the 'Spanic Attack arts collective.
An enthusiast of infomercials, edge cities, and (minor) dead French poets, he writes postpunk décimas in the shadow of Yankee Stadium and lives on the Grand Concourse.

Apenas hace poco que escribi un blog que habla sobre una anecdota en el Edwin's Cafe y ahora te encuentro. Tambien puse un blog con una nota sobre una obra de Rey E. Andujar, quien por cierto parece que por fin viene a Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico para hacer una pelicula en video digital que escribi por aquellos tiempos Neoyorquinos. Tambien quiero hacer un experimento con videos de artistas que conozco (conocer, aunque sea un poco). Espero que participes. Aquello de "San Pancho" es memorable.
Anoche se me ha perdido en la arena de la playa un recuerdo dorado, viejo y menudo como un granito de arena. ¡Paciencia! La noche es corta. Iré a buscarlo mañana... Pero tengo miedo de esos remolinos nocherniegos que se llevan en su grupa -¡Dios sabe adónde!- la arena menudita de la playa.

bobbyblue is a dynamo on stage. Playing with a full band, his songs ran the gamut from Who-ish acoustic shuffles to calypso, Bread covers to the Costa Rican national anthem. The key is his undeniable tenor (alto?) vocals and a confident, charming stage persona. I have seen a lot of great showcase performers, but never have I seen one that I would call a party...until now. Don't miss this guy.

Lopo Drido`` Rarísimo- Autogestionado 4 Estrellas Rarísimo es un documento muy importante en la aún joven historia del punk rock puertorriqueño. Lopodrido (antes Rechazo Social / Niños de Nadie) es una banda de trayectoria, que existe desde los tiempos donde no existían modas que respondieran a la música punk. El principio de la década de los años 1990 fue una época fértil para el punk local, como todas lo han sido desde entonces. Bandas como Sham Pain, Fobia Estatal y otras ya grababan sus demos y cassettes. Este disco documenta la larga historia de Lopodrido y su trayectoria del 1990 al 1997. Los temas fueron extraídos de diferentes grabaciones hechas en sus conciertos, grabaciones hechas con caseteras, indicadas para el sonido áspero que caracteriza a Lopodrido. El disco(que tambien fue editado por el) incluye un texto de Francisco Rosado, uno de los integrantes, que narra la historia de la banda, sus altas y bajas, y completa una colección imprescindible para la historia de la música subterránea local.
