IMAGEYENATION's Blurbs |
About me:
First off, we are not spammers or scammers. We aren't going to post comments on your page about free iPhones, Macy's gift-cards , dating sites, or porn. We're a creative collective, made up of real people, dedicated to spreading underground, urban and alternative culture, art, music, fashion, philosophy and more on the web, on the radio, and any other way we can. If we sent you a friend request it's because we think you're cool (or you look cool), we think your taste might match up with ours, we like your art (or music, or whatever), or we dig something about what you're about. So don't be scared to accept our friendship!
un-der-ground
(adj.)
Of or relating to an avant-garde movement or its films, publications and art, usually privately produced and of special appeal and often concerned with social or artistic experiment.
ur-ban
(adj.)
Of, relating to, located in or characteristic of a city or city life.
al-ter-na-tive
(adj.)
Existing outside traditional or established institutions or systems and espousing or reflecting values that are different from those of the establishment or mainstream.
The Imageyenation Collective/Urban Alternatives Crew is an aggregation of DJs, writers, urban anthropologists, pop-culture critics, guerrilla sociologists, artists, photographers, producers, musicians, hipsters, backpackers, metrosexuals, fashionistas, revolutionaries, punks, haters, skaters and blabbermouths from all over the Northeastern United States (and sometimes the UK) who think (real) thoughts, spin (good) records, make beats, write poetry & lyrics, play in bands, record music, create art and talk a whole lotta smack.
Most of the crew's members can be found voicing their opinions on music, art, movies, books, magazines, television, news, politics, current events, spirituality, society, popular culture, fashion, trends, technology and more on our group blog/e-zine at Imageyenation. Focusing on defining and re-defining underground, urban and alternative culture for our post-modern, multi-ethnic, media-saturated society, the Imageyenation weblog is the home-base of the Imageyenation Collective/Urban Alternatives Crew on the world-wide-web.
Members of the Collective include (but are not limited to):

For 6 years members of the Imageyenation posse were responsible for producing the weekly Urban Alternatives radio program on 90.7 FM WTCC in Springfield. For reasons known only to the masterminds on the station board of directors we were recently suspended from all on-air activity. Instead of crying and wringing our hands we decided to keep doing the show as a 100% digital, 100% portable, 100% uncensored downloadable podcast. New episodes of the URB ALTcast are uploaded to the podcast archive every week (some time after Wednesday night) and are available for download for two weeks. Check the website for new episodes of subscribe to the URB ALTcast RSS feed to stay up-to-date automatically.
And finally; if you're a band, artist, record label or promo-bot looking for a review or interview on our website, or DJ play in our sets or on our podcasts, or if you have some other entertainment-based project or consumer product you want reviewed or promoted, please get in touch either via e-mail (keter@imageyenation.com) or a message here on MySpace to get our direct shipping address. And feel free to shoot us your press-releases, announcements, audio and video links, MP3s and other promotional goodies (to the same e-mail address, or here on MySpace) as well.
Buy our stuff:
