Istvan Gallery @ Urban Art ..."There is a crack in everything. Thats how the light gets in." Leonard Cohen
In the spirit of early community art centers like the Jacobson House in Norman, the Old Nan Sheets Gallery in OKC and more recent entities like the Contemporary Arts Foundation of the 1960's, Individual Artists of Oklahoma, Living Arts in Tulsa and the Paseo District, the Istvan Gallery @ Urban Art will feature the work of emerging and established Oklahoma artists in an atmosphere designed to be comfortable for art collectors as well as art lovers who have never been in an art gallery.
..
The Istvan Gallery wants to provide the opportunity for everyone to know an artist and for everyone to be invited to at least one art opening every year.
The Istvan Gallery will feature a regular roster of artists as well as special exhibits with artist's reception approximately every four months.
..
The Istvan Gallery will serve as host to Story Slams, Film and Video, Poetry Readings and other community events.
..
The Istvan Gallery is also available for private events including meetings, parties and other special occasions.
